Brantley is officially out for the year for Missouri. I think they only return two guys from their two deep on the DL last year. They lost all 4 starters.

And yet somehow of the 4 no-name guys they'll put on the field, both of the tackles will be All-Americans and the ends will be 1st and 2nd round draft picks.

Marcus Spears also picked us to win the East. Has us playing Auburn in the SECCG

I honestly like our odds against Auburn, much better than against the Bama boa constrictor. Their offense will be hot as always, but the quality and depth on our defensive line (feels crazy to say) would at the very least keep us in it enough to have a chance.

Beginning of summer on VN: 8-9 wins seems reasonable

A few weeks ago on VN: 9-10 wins and a trip to the SEC CG game and probably losing to Auburn/Bama seems reasonable

Now on VN: we can put up x amount of points and we can win the SEC CG

A few weeks from now on VN: we're a lock to make the 4 team playoff

By week 1 on VN: we should be considered the favorites in the playoffs

Just quoting SECN. I haven't read anyone on here making any crazy predictions

While we are posting non-recruiting related info, I may as well bring this up. Can the POTS please learn some new songs. So very weary of The Immigrant Song and Sweet Caroline, and others. How difficult would it be to cycle in some new songs? Let these rest for a few years. Please.

Every year.

Mizzou's schedule is laughable. They have a good chance of starting 6-0 and being in the top 10 when they play UGA, but they will not be a top 10 team this year. They also have the easiest West draw by far with Arkansas and Mississippi State--probably the bottom two West teams.

I think they go 9-3 with losses to UGA, UT, and Arkansas, but wouldn't be surprised with another 10-2 season despite them not being a great team.

After the first loss we will be lucky to make a bowl game.

I'm sticking with 9-3 and winning the East. I'll even throw caution to the wind and say we win our bowl game.

The VOL love from the media will be at an all time high if Tennessee carries a 10-3 record into 2016 along with Dobbs, Hurd, Barnett, et. al. Game day will be licking their chops to set up shop in Knoxville.

May even happen with a 9-4 record.

"Bulldogs are short frumpy stupid dogs with a penchant for arthritis. They drool inordinately, are ill-suited for any athletic maneuver, and generally have frequent flatulence. They would be the first mammal to die off in a post-human apocalypse. The Bluetick Coonhound is a streamlined, blue blood of the canine kingdom. Specially bred for the rigors of hunting the likes of frumpy land animals."

I don't know why but frumpy just fits.

This sounds reasonable. I'll role with it. :good!:

Not only did Mizzou lose all 4 starters on the DL. They lost two other guys out of the two deep. They lost all three WRs off an already bad offense. Their returning recievers combined for 10 catches last year plus they lost their LT that started 40 games for them. They are not going to be good.

I'll feel a lot better about the 2016 recruiting class once we have a RB committed. Butch must feel comfortable that he had B.J Emmons in the fold

I think they added a couple last year. I know they started playing the theme to Game of Thrones.

I really think 9 wins is the number. Once all the dust settles if we're at 8 or 9 I will be good.

But I think we can potentially end up better than that if things fall our way.

We could also end up worse.

The fact that we're back in the national discussions for winning the East means we're getting close to being back. We just have to still be in those discussions come November. I can barely remember what that feels like.

Reasonable expectations. If a few things can fall our way, especially lack of injuries at a few positions, I think we could go 10-4 or 11-3 when the season is completely over. If that happens, recruiting will get even more fun.
