decades. what is how long its been since kentucky won in neyland for 1000 alex. slice it all week, its not happening.

I actually didn't think he looked that sharp. His mechanics look off....threw off his back foot multiple times when he didn't need to.

Made the Comment in the game thread. He has an arm and throws a good ball, but didn't look comfortable in the pocket and threw mostly off his back foot.

Do we have enough DTs?

Vickers, Phillips, Picou, Kongbo, Mixon, Bain. Butcher if necessary.

Kirkland, Jumper, and McDowell will need to have big games on Saturday.

I'm actually more worried about our DBs vs their WRs. They have some decent WRs and we just get burned constantly on downfield throws.

UK sees this as their best chance to get a W in Neyland in decades. It will be surprising if they aren't fired up for it. That SCAR loss makes teams like UK confident they can beat us.

By the way,

Hurd's career long for UT was a 48 yarder last year against Vandy. 2nd longest was in 2014 against Oklahoma for 42.

Yep, but I also think the Vols are revitalized now. Plus, Kamara and Kelly will be nightmares for UK's defense. They still don't have any speed on defense.

I thought he played excellent. Did he make some mistakes? Sure. But, he made some really nice throws, showed some escapability, and that throw he made that was mentioned earlier was a thing of beauty. Loved what I saw out of him.

Excellent is a big stretch IMO. He showed some arm talent, but outside that he looked like he is in dire need of more game experience.

Excellent or a seasoned SEC quarterback probably not. Excellent for a QB that has had very limited meaningful snaps, the only meaningful snaps in close to a year? I think so.

Still no confirmation that Kamara or Sutton will play-- and they are difference makers at key positions. Kelly is very impressive, but CFA and Lewis lack experience and TOs are the last thing we need.

UK's D is vulnerable. But we have struggled against teams that run the ball, and Williams and Snell are solid. If we can't elevate our run defense, it could turn out to be a shootout. I like our chances, should that be the case.

Yep. A fast start is crucial. Can't let them get the usual 14-0 lead we spot our opponents before we wake up, because they may be able to grind out some long drives on the ground and control the clock.

38 - 23 type game is prob what Vegas is thinking

Yep. If we start fast and get up a few scores, IDT they'll be able to come from behind in a hostile Neyland. I hope DeBord gameplans a great opening drive to give Team 120 (and Dobbs) confidence. A decisive win is exactly what we need.

Odds are, UF will lose to LSU, and we're UK's last SEC game. We just have to win out and we can still make the SECCG.

I know that it's the rock-bottom bare minimum expectation....but it's still kinda nice to be bowl eligible with 3 games to go. Even the seasons where we made bowls in the past 8 years still had a feeling of "bowl anxiety."

2008: Needed to win out after Fulmer's firing, lost to Wyoming, no bowl
2009: Needed to beat Vandy OR Kentucky, not a huge level of anxiety but still bowl-less as of week 10
2010: Started 2-6 and needed to win 4 in a row to go bowling, miraculously pulled it off
2011: 4-6 heading into a tough matchup with Vandy, beat them but lost to UK, no bowl
2012: 4-6 heading into Vandy, needed to win out, got blown out, no bowl
2013: 4-6 heading into Vandy game AGAIN, needed to win out, lost to Vandy, no bowl
2014: 5-6 heading into Vandy game, needed to beat a team with nothing to lose, finally got a bowl
2015: 2-3 to start the season, looked like the wheels could completely come off and bowl eligibility would be a struggle again, but finished strong to comfortably make a bowl
2016: With TTU still on the schedule, essentially bowl eligible on Oct. 1

Texas A&M is decent.

We saw the leading East team get owned by the 4th or 5th best West team today.

I'm sorry your high expectations have been dashed.

I've got to ask, is this the only way you have to make yourself feel better about yourself? Why would you feign being a fan of a team and then use every waking breath to ridicule that same team?

Even more important is getting some early 3-and outs on defense. Not that much quality DT depth so if they can wear us down in the 1st half we could be looking at some real long drives late in the game where they just go wildcat and run it right at us

I think we win out but I do not expect this to be a cakewalk at all. We might cover the spread against Kentucky but I bet we get that margin sometime in the fourth after three tough quarters rather than boat racing them from the outset. Same for mizzou. And I think Vandy will give us everything they have.

No question in my mind UF has at least one loss in the next two weeks. Injuries starting to pile up for them as well.
