Well, they ended up at #4 at the end of the season, so you could say we beat a top 5 team that year.

I always thought our fans were too quick to write him off. Every time he got in a game, it was either garbage time and all he did was run out the clock, or it was a really bad situation where our O-line was being overwhelmed and any QB would have been screwed.

He looked bad in garbage time. He looked bad running out the clock. He looked bad whenever he took a snap FOR US. He's worked hard and salvaged a nice college career out of his second opportunity. He wouldn't have done that for us (and didn't). Maybe it was mental, fundamental or emotional...who cares? Agonizing for someone that didn't fit is agonizing for agonizing's sake.

This is one of those silly stats that makes for a good soundbite but that are ultimately meaningless. Like, "Soandso hasn't lost a game when getting the ball at the 35 to start the 4th quarter up by at least 9 points!"
