I'm a card carrying member of the Cargo short nation. Just like wearing Crocs, I don't give a crap what anybody thinks..they're comfortable and handy as a back, and extra side pocket. Plus those little side slot pockets you get. :)

Do what? We will be a top 4 seed to make the playoffs if we go 12-1 & win the SEC Championship game. What seed are you saying that would make us? A #1 seed?

Yes, Blanc grabbed his degree & has now moved on. Seems like he was here for 6 years anyhow. :) Stocstill leaving kind of surprised me. He played well on special teams last season & did some FB blocking as well a few times.

For a team like us to be picked so high in the rankings the media sure doesn't show it by these sorry predictions for All-SEC & All-American teams. We are 2-3 players short for these list. Evan Berry for sure on KR yes. I believe Barnett was snubbed without a doubt. I also believe Cam Sutton should have made it too.

JRM is another one that got snubbed. That's 3 right there at a minimum that got snubbed. All these predictions are doing is making us even angrier & more determined to show how good we're going to be. That's all they're doing!

We're not full for 2017 yet but we must be careful from now on who we choose to allow committing to us. We don't have that many scholarships left now for '17.

We land 5* Trey Smith & that's one for sure we won't let go. However, the rest of the slots we have available we have to pick ones that are 4*+ talent. That's the only way we're going to end up with a top 10 signing class.

We get two 5* recruits with other 4* recruits then we might have a shot at a top 5 class. Butch has a tendency to pull some crazy things off come NSD.

If you're using the composite, Smith isn't a 5*.

Smith is a 5* overall & is the #1 prospect overall from most recruiting services. I do believe any & all #1 overall ranked recruit in any recruiting class is going to be a 5* recruit.

Edit: Just checked his profile from 247 Sports & they certainly do have him listed as a 4* recruit. That amazes me! Most of the other major services have him as a 5* but I have to go with 247 Sports since they're the one I mainly use.

So in this particular case you're not using the composite? Ok. That's cool.

I believe he's only #1 overall on ESPN.

Trey Smith is a 5* recruit regardless of what the recruiting services have him rated. Size, strength, quickness. Excels with the eye test on film and in camp. See the offer list. Good character. Appears much further along than Richmond at the same stage.

Really is that simple.

I think he's a 5* recruit too but I always go by 247 Sports composite for my recruit rankings/stars. I can't believe they don't have him as a 5* recruit. That's why I responded they way I did in a prior post.

I thought for sure without even checking 247 Sports that they would have him as a 5*. I'm shocked & puzzled on this one by them!

Trey Smith is a 5* on 3 recruiting sites. Rivals is the only one that dropped the ball on him. When they update (which will be soon), he should bump on Rivals and 247 composite. I would be shocked if he isn't a consensus 5* when it's all said and done.

Good chance he'll be a 5* by the time he signs. Hopefully it's with our Vols.

an sec (hopefully UT) team will be a 1 or 2 seed with a 12-1 record unless 2 other teams go undefeated (which is very unlikely).

Rivals wasn't the only one. Check 247 Sports Kristy* in which you know is my main source for recruiting. They also have him as a 4* recruit & I like to fail out of my seat when I saw that from them.

Ok! You're saying they should be a #1 or #2 because of being in the SEC & winning the title. I can vouch for that but I think we lose to Texas A&M(our only regular season loss) & that's what middle-late season so it's going to drop us down somewhat & we will have to earn that ranking back.

I'd say it takes us out of the top 10 in the BCS rankings. We will have a few games left to get that ranking back though. I think a #3 or #4 ranking is more reasonable but we could possibly get to #2 but I don't think we see the #1 overall seed. I just don't!

Yes, it's what I use. But you said 247 dropped their rating for Smith and they didn't. Their rating is separate from the composite.

I actually don't consider the composite 247's rating at all.

Please enlighten me on that. I don't recall saying 247 Sports dropped their rating on Smith. Please show me where in my posts that I said that about 247 Sports doing that? Thanks!
