LOL. Saban finally granted Maurice Smith an unconditional release and was his surly self with the media today:

"So that is past us now. It is beyond us. We don't really need to talk about that anymore and I don't have any other comments to make about it. We're trying to focus on the guys we have here and what we need to do to help those guys have a chance to be successful."

Aiight, then.

I wonder if the SEC assured Saban they would deny the transfer to UGA even if he "allowed" it?

While this is true, it's usually joking about something you don't like. I don't think it's that big of deal, just doubt he's too thrilled about it.

I took it as he stayed inside (indoors) being he wasn't with the other Dline at practice.. Lol.. I'm slow..

Doesn't seem like it was about the kid at all-- just a pissing match between Smart and Saban. It's amusing to see Saban have one PR hassle after another.

Great news if accurate. Maybe he can be in shape and ready to go instead of a RS.

If he comes back he will definitely be in shape and ready to contribute this season. Kids this young don't take long to get there. I'm sure he has been working out in some capacity since he never was "kicked off the team". (Just suspended indefinitely)

I'm sure someone has keeping him in somewhat shape. Might take a lil while to adjust to this level (SEC) but conditioning won't be a problem

There's really no reason for the SEC to grant a waiver. Saban looks bad, whatever the SEC decides. Reminds me of Dooley refusing to release DeAnthony Arnett, then caving after a PR backlash.

I see Emory Jones got his fifth star on Rivals. And Trevor Lawrence seems UGA-bound. Hope JG redshirts.

Emory Jones committed to Ohio State right? I can't keep up with all of these recruits. You're also spot on with Lawrence. I think it's 99% that he's headed to Georgia.

Unless you go with 2 QBs. Say you put Dobbs in along with Dormady. Both in the gun and split about 3 feet apart behind center. Each play call the center knows which to snap it to. Either guy can throw it well. Either guy can tuck it and run. Defense has to determine first who has the ball. Is it the guy going left or right? Dobbs has it headed right. He's running, wait no he's throwing back over to Dormady. Defense turns back to the left, SOB now Dormady pulled up and is tossing it deep to PW. Interesting chaos for sure.

We need a insider drive-by on E Berry... the fact that Butch didn't mention him yesterday when talking about injuries and no one else will talk, I don't think this bodes well... We all know if it was something small they would have addressed it by now... hopefully something with school/class or them wanting to take a thorough look at a potential injury... the fact is, the longer the silence, the greater the odds are something bad...Lawd knows we need him, so all we can do is hope he is Okay...

Still VERY curious about a source saying Johnson is in the clear. Anyone have anything? That conversation topic just got passed over way too quickly to talk about some jackass UGA player and ESPN specials. This guy is a difference maker.

EAZYTD said it. So shall it be.

I don't like the context for someone liking that post. That's my opinion. Of thousands of VN members, I didn't like the tact of a few for liking those posts.

You are the one claiming I'm condemning everyone and dumping all into a pile. And yes, I do find you to be over emotional on a good deal of your posts.

Lots of people, me included, give people likes who bring breaking news to the board. It's a way of saying "thank you for bringing valuable info to the board." I didn't like the specific post you're talking about, but I've frequently liked posts with negative info because the person took the time to inform all of us about some breaking news. I like the fact that the post was made, not necessarily what the content of the post was.

It seems to me "likes" are shared mostly in cliques rather than on decent posts. Just my take. I try to "like" a good post every chance I get. No matter who makes it.
