On the field, two things are standing out early about Baylen Buchanan and that's both his instincts and willingness to "stick his nose in there." Staffers are loving his tenacity, aggressiveness but also understanding of the game.
Daniel Bituli is starting on some special teams already and folks believe he can have an impact there this year. Going to be interesting to watch how his body composition changes at this level; huge frame and a lot of belief he can play on the edge if he fully outgrows linebacker. But they're loving his athleticism and attitude.
Guarantano continues to impress. Am told he got whacked one recent day by Derek Barnett, bounced up and on the next play rifled a brilliant pass to Josh Malone, which at the last minute was broken up by an even better play by Cam Sutton.
Returning guys in the secondary also impressing are Rashaan Gaulden and Malik Foreman, who's definitely picked up where he left off at the end of last season and carried through spring, summer and now into camp. And Foreman remains among the Vols' faster players, especially among upperclassmen. Gaulden, if healthy, is a breakout candidate for sure.
