How easily we forget Danny Obrien was a top DT recruit coming out of HS. He has been great for us IMO. Steady and tough in the middle each year. You know what your are going to get. Shoop has repeatedly said he was most improved player since spring so it shouldn't be a suprise he is being rewarded with a start KMAC will play plenty. It's hilarious that he calls Dobbs a top 10 pick greatest ever but calls KMAC a bust already yet I seem to recall Dobbs struggling a bit at the same age and he didn't have to sit out his sr yr of HS. Everyone develops at their own speed especially at a postion that players rarely show on a stat sheet.

They haven't even played yet. My gosh.

This is the week 1 depth chart. Stop reading into it.

Let the play on the field determine things.

By week 3 the depth chart will be set and things will be different.

You do realize that the depth chart the coaches put out is less than useless, right? Marlin Lane was listed as our starting RB all year in 2014 even though he wasn't even the guy seeing the field first half the time (let alone seeing the majority of snaps in the game). Curt Maggit was listed as a starter for all of 2013 even though he redshirted.

You really need to learn to tap the breaks and let things play out. It will really help you once you start the 11th grade next year.

What significant contribution? Kahlil was TERRIBLE last year. No where close to fufulling the expectations most had on here.

I had pretty lukewarm expectations given I only expected him to start. Others were saying he would get 8-10 sacks last year.

Given the hype he came in with, he's been a severe disappointment.

If you don't believe that a "depth chart" released to the media isn't 90% about giving recognition to older players who's earned it and possibly motivating some players you're wrong.

I am impressed that 5* like KMac is the type of team player to not worry about things like this and has worked extremely hard to reshape his body. He knows that having Danny O ahead of him is just as much to give the redshirt SR his due as it is him not going to contribute as much or more than him. I'm happy he isn't the type of diva high ranked player that lets something like this get him down and kick and scream, he just keeps working and is a top notch team player.

KMac is going to be a HUGE part of this team getting to ATL this year and to think he is anything other than a great SEC DT as a true Sophomore is ridiculous.

Then why was Latroy Lewis not listed ahead of Derek Barnett as a true freshmen on the depth chart if its all about respect for older players?

It's one thing to say the younger guy is listed behind the vet on the depth chart when he's a true freshmen. But this is Kahlil's sophomore year.

No other 5 star DT from his class is listed as a ceremonial backup to an inferior veteran player.

Josh wasn't a 5 star #1 overall recruit that was tossing other top recruits like rag dolls at camps.

I'm sorry but I have higher standards for Kahlil. He didn't come in as an under the radar recruit. He was billed as the biggest recruit in Tennessee history since Peyton Manning.

To not be an outright starter by his sophomore year is DISSAPOINTING given his standards.

Great day, I don't visit the football forum hardly at all, but there's no way it can be any worse over there than it is in the recruiting forum. It has become atrocious over here. You would think we are on the brink of shutting this program down, instead of being on the brink of competing for a SEC championship at the least. Unreal!!

Ah, one of the good ol go around's on VN is happening again. Someone/a group of people say something. D4H calls them idiots as well as the team. The VN crusaders come out and defend the team while some others call him an idiot. Goes one for 50+ posts.

Out of respect for the rest of the board, I won't quote your garbage. I would just like to say as if it wasn't already evident, you prove time and time again to be an obvious troll. I don't know why or what enjoyment you get out of coming onto a public forum to bash UT athletes,coaches, fans, etc., but I'm done with your elitist, nonsensical bull****. I've been a member for years and found this board in the worst of times for UT football. I was so excited to find a group of people who care about the University of Tennessee as much as I do. While I don't post, I loved to read others opinions and insight. I probably spent more time than I care to admit browsing the opinions of fellow fans and the like, and of course all the news and recruiting updates that come as well. But I digress, I'd rather be uninformed than have to sift through the garbage you and Leb contribute to what was once such a great place. The fact you have been allowed to carry on for so long is both frustrating and disheartening

Exactly how I feel. They load up every thread with their garbage. Recruit form was where we could escape the FF crazy's. Now we have our own and has made very difficult to enjoy RF any more. I already put them on ignore but people keep quoting them and feeding them. I say let's just stop responding to them period and take back our RF. :good!:

When us Vol fans don't have something legitimate to complain about, this is what happens.

It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.
