It's more like "Butch has several commitments lined up for the next few weeks but just in case any of them change their mind I'll cover my ass by saying 'or things could change'."

How I read it too.

Pretty obvious Harris & the Fulton TE want in. Would go as far as to say we potentially have 4-5 other guys who want on board who just aren't takes right now. Some guys who if we missed on a few more could become options immediately (Sykes, Camron Johnson, etc)

Litaker too. He's supposed to do something soon.

Being a Fulton alum, I would gladly take credit for producing Warren, but he is really from Farragut

It seems like this class is about to reach a point where things will slow up (probably after the Orange Carpet event) and the staff can be pretty selective with filling the rest of the class out.

Obviously that will hinge on how the season goes, what other prospects recommit, etc.

I imagine there will be 5-8 names that end up in this class we haven't heard much of yet. Especially on D

1-2 DE
2 LB
2 DB

If this team wins 8 plus, the peer recruiting that is happening continues, and the newly infused energy of this staff keeps up, I think the recruits will come and they'll be turning high quality talent away.

Agreed. I've been enjoying just sitting back and watching this class come together. I fully believe if we get another 9 win season and a bowl win at least we will have a top ten class this year. Just can't have any hiccups which has been a thorn in our side the last couple years. Some thorns being things we can't help, though.

Gotta admit, one position I'm more concerned about this recruiting cycle is RB. We need a top notch RB to help make sure we don't see a drop in productivity at that position.

What happened? I was getting ready for bed and then I woke up in the neighbors flower bed. I think Rish roofied me.

I have no idea what you're talking. I have you no drink, just a bottle that only said "sleeping pills". Whatever you did in your sleep is your choice

Both quarterbacks are out and about during May mini-term. Dormady has been in California and is now in Florida working with quarterback coach Jeff Christensen. Next week, Jarrett Guarantano will be out in San Diego with George Whitfield for a second time.

That's where a good competition is in play, but some of the best drama resides on the offensive line. In talking to some around the program, Jashon Robertson appears to be the only locked in starter at this point and where will that be? If he is the center then Coleman Thomas appears to be on the outside looking in. If it's at guard then Jack Jones and Venzell Boulware could be the odd men out. Throw in Brett Kendrick, Trey Smith and Drew Richmond, to go along with Chance Hall and it's a log jam up front. In talking to some around the complex this week, Jones drew great reviews from the weight staff as he fully understands staying in town may help him immensely come August.

June first is a good day for the Vols on the defensive side of the ball. Players will be back in town and several are expected to be fully cleared and ready to go including defensive linemen Kahlil McKenzie, Kyle Phillips, and Kendal Vickers.

Defensive lineman Matthew Butler has been following Gullickson's plan to a “t." In fact, Butler and Gullickson talk a couple of times a week about workouts, nutrition and other things. The two have decided that 270 pounds is the best weight for Butler who finishes school a week from today and moves to Knoxville a week from Sunday. It's hard to imagine anyone more driven that Butler or anyone more prepared when he arrives than Butler.

Finally in football, Butch Jones and his staff are always looking for tips and things from other coaches as they try and visit with other staffs both in college and the NFL. One person, Jones and the defensive guys have visit with on a couple of occassions and former Vols assistant and recently retired Dan Brooks. Brooks and his wife Kathy are back living in East Tennessee and Brooks has been on the Vols campus a couple of times visiting with Brady Hoke, Steve Stripling and others just to talk a little ball.
