Saying "we" does not imply we are on the roster. Fans are fans. Players are players. Tennessee is our university and our team. Resenting "we" is worse than silly, imo.

I catch myself doing it sometimes too

It's just easier to say we. Also, we invest, money, time, energy and emotions in the school and team. We may not be on the field but we are invested enough that "we" is ok.

Would it be better for us to say “they”?? Sounds like something you would say about another team, not the one you’re a fan of.

"We" is how you identify yourself as a fan.

WE are Volnation... I agree... Volnation is the fans of the Volunteers... Maybe it’s a silly pet peeve but it sounds ridiculous to me when fans of a team talk like they’re actively on the roster lol

It really only makes me roll my eyes hard when a fan says something like "We win the natty every other year", "We are just winners"... speaking of accomplishments a team had and including themselves in that accomplishment.... that McDawg81 guy said something to that effect that had "we" in it and it came off on the same note...

I guess it's a pet peeve on a level of Mullen's no guns policy

Surely, u meant me. If u didn't, eff the Bulldogs, I now hate their fans more than Gators fans, at least Gators fans have a couple of NCs to brag about, 1980 Bulldogs fans. Tech even has one in '90
