Do you actually know anything about the situation? The state is in a billion dollar deficit. They literally can't have a budget in the black without raising taxes.

Bobby Jindal put them in this situation, a quick Google search will prove it.

Please get your facts straight. The LA budget was based on oil priced a 96.90/barrel. At 30/barrel, the income was obviously cut by 2/3. Since LA charges a 12.5% VAT on every barrel of oil and it produces 1.45M barrels a day, of course the state is in trouble. You can blame Jindal on some things, but this is all about oil and excessive spending.

When Jindal was elected they had a billion dollar surplus. When he left office they had a 1.6 billion dollar deficit. I blame him for putting LA into a situation where any decrease in oil prices completely destroys the state budget. As governor he should've been a better leader than to let something like this happen.

How Much Will $60 a Barrel Oil Hurt Louisiana Economy? - 24/7 Wall St.

Here is an article that shows for each $15 drop in oil prices the state of LA loses $133M in revenue. So a drop from $96 to $35 cost the state over half a billion. That is the main reason for the current budget shortfall.

I need some help from my fellow Vols. I am currently stationed in Florida, but I grew up in Tennessee and am a land owner next to the Cumberland Trail near Soddy-Daisy, TN. We were recently informed that a proposed shooting range is in the works near the State Park and our land. If this gets approved, the noise from the range will drive away the badly needed ecotourists from the area. Since most homeowners in the area use well water, the lead from spent rounds pose a threat to the ground water as well.

Here is the article from the Times Free Press:

Although Mr. Whaley stated the range is .68 miles away from the Cumberland Trail, we have actually mapped it out to be approximately .37 miles. Either way, that is well within the audible range of gunfire.

I am a gun owner and frequent user of shooting ranges, but I would never want to jeopardize a State Park or safety of residents in doing so. There is also an existing gun range about 20 minutes away (Montlake Classic Clays). Do we really need another range that close?

If you would please sign our petition so that the range can be moved to a more suitable area and share this information with your friends, it would be greatly appreciated.

Trump may very well be the right decision maker for the job but IMO the POTUS is much more than that.

The POTUS should be a person that kids like my 8year old can strive to be like. He or she is a person that examples honor, dignity, morality, and character. All things that the head of the best land in all the world should show.

Trump isn't even a Person I can allow my kids to listen to. It's not time for me to explain what a puzzy is to him or what the F word is. It's just a darn shame a man that shows zero respect for the people of the countries morality is even in consideration

As much as I completely disagree with Obama at least I can allow my son to listen to him and in some ways gain a sense that anyone with proper work and dedication can achieve anything

Trump is a crass, vulgar, self-promotional blowhard. He has demeaned the political process with his outrageous language and policy positions. That said, he's the most moderate of all the GOP candidates, who, like always, are always trying to outdo one another in appealing to the goobers, wingnuts and crazy christians who make up the bulk of Republican voters. They're so transparent it is comical.

Notice how each one of them still gravely pronounces that the first thing he's going to do is "repeal Obamacare." Forget that the program has helped millions afford health insurance--which to everybody but Republicans is a pretty good thing. Still, Republican pols have been saying for, what, three or more years that they are going to repeal Obamacare, when there is no chance that it will be repealed. The Supreme Court upheld it. That is the thing with Republicans--they are on the wrong side of almost every issue, and can never accept the fact that they've lost on an issue. They are always fighting old battles---which I guess they must because they never want to tackle any real problems. And so they prattle and hurumph about what Democrats do, because Democrats actually try to solve problems and promote a term that is in the constitution--the "general welfare"--meaning the common good. But the GOP basically doesn't believe in the common good. It doesn't believe doing anything but helping rich corporations and wealthy individuals who most assuredly do not need help. They heap scorn on those who actually do need assistance, wondering why they weren't born to upper-middle-income families as they were. Republicans are people who, asked to choose between protecting the health of American people on issues like toxic dumping or protecting the profits of companies that pollute, always choose to side with corporate polluters. They lie about global warming to protect big energy companies. They never miss a chance to stiff average working people, whether it be on the minimum wage, unions, worker disability, unemployment pay, you name it. They are venal, small-minded, horrible people.

I wonder sometimes if Trump isn't a plant. It makes sense. Our country is fittin ta go in the crapper big time boys. Hillary is gettin this handed to her on a silver platter thanks to Trump. If it wasn't for him, the Republicans would probably stand a fair chance in the general election....P.S. I dont really think Trumps a plant, but the Dems couldn't ask for a better set of circumstances.
