Wrong. That's not how it is often done. The reality is that the ones pushing diversity are doing the exact thing they fight against.

The problem we have in this country is that the idea of a meritocracy is scoffed at. As evidenced by your posts. "Well look around we aren't one" Then teach and speak toward the goal of it instead of pushing the rhetoric of "diversity" being some major hiring goal The idea that some quota is evidence of diversity or lack thereof is asinine. The NFL, nba, etc is the closest to meritocracy that we have but that is as uneven as you can get.
Please explain how my posts evidence anything of the sort. You’re coming at this with a very specific mindset and interpreting based on that mindset. Nothing I’ve said has scoffed at meritocracy. I do however scoff at corporations attempting to claim diversity by finding one person who checks off a lot of boxes and calling hiring one person diversity.

"If we were, we would be more diverse at the highest levels as well as at the midrange. People tend to hire based on who they know and whether or not a person is like them"

The above comment isn't necessarily true in a meritocracy. However, you require a quota, even if it's loose. You see a trend but you don't trust the hiring process to be genuine, therefore, it's allegedly racial. We cannot be a society of meritocracy if there is unfounded distrust in that society. That's where you scoff at it. Because you're skeptical and its without merit.

Don't present the charge of "specific mindset blah blah" hogwash. Another unfounded assumption because it doesn't fit your preference.

I haven’t mentioned quotas nor do I require them. You’re arguing against a straw man of your own making. Actually you’re going even further than that and just making up what you want to and claiming that it is what I think.

You are. You require to see specific diversity in "the highest levels and midrange" to convince you everyone has a fair opportunity. YOU are making that argument.

There is no specific diversity, no quota, no great boogeyman. You need to hit the poliboard and let off whatever steam you’ve got built up. I have no interest in arguing with you. If you’re up for a conversation I will listen and respond but this isn’t worth my time or yours.

Sounds like you just got caught with your pants down on the subject and decided to attack but let's explore your side of it then.

What was your point about the diversity in the midrange to higher levels, please explain further? What would satisfy you?

What is your solution?

Here is a more light hearted pivot point,,, the guy from Nirvana”s Nevermind Album cover is suing because he claims he was a victim of child porn and exploitation. He notes that his baby Willy is dangling in the wind while baby him chases that dolla dolla bill just like a pornstar/sex worker. The same guy has Nevermind tattooed on his chest and has recreated the pose twice (once as a teen and again as an adult).

He is uncomfortable with how often the photo comes up because we all recognize one another from baby photos and needs 150k from each of the 15 people listed in the suit.

Nah, there’s simply no point in continuing down this path. It’s also way past time for sleep.
