Reminded me of this article that I saw…. What kind of world are we living in where people are traumatized by finding out Santa isn’t real?
I just posted it bc I have met a few people that has those views and also a few people have expressed those views on Christmas discussions on here.1. Gen Z Parent on Tik-Tok posts their anti Santa video and receives 10k views, majority of comments are laughing.
2. Other Tik Tokers also follow up but don’t get as many views. Very small circle and view numbers on this topic overall at this point.
3. “News Outlets” aka, click baity blogs run an article on said Tik Toker, “interview her”, and then classify all Gen Zers as Santa hating parents.
4. Other click baity outlets pick up the story because they saw the clicks the first one garnered and want to also laugh at the video and now even more eyeballs are on the story.
5. More Tik Tokers see the stories and create videos because they want to get on the trend and get more views and followers.
6. Rinse and repeat.
If no one runs the story, it’s just a few Tik Tok people posting their view and getting laughed at. Instead, blogs and outlets give it credence all while labeling all Gen Zers as followers of the trend, when really, the blogs/outlets are the ones that made the “trend” more widespread themselves. Rinse and repeat for every other topic.

No one is traumatized by finding out Santa isn't real. Keeping Santa real for your kids is a little bit of a hassle and eventually telling your kids that Santa isn't real is a little bit uncomfortable, so just get rid of it. Parents choosing themselves over their kids in the name of their kids. Could be the motto of this generation lol.
We have never gotten rid of Santa. Santa is the personification of giving and selflessness. Just because there isn't a physical Santa, doesn't mean the message isn't real. At least that has always been my take on it.
