Kamara will play, DL will get reps, prob a LB will be rotation, maybe a CB.
Damn sure better have an OL that will at least be quick enough to slow the DLine down some.
Bonus if one of the speedsters balls out right away or PW is 100%!
Just my guess.

i don't know how good we'll be in 15, safe to say i expect another step though. winning at UF would be good. especially in what will be perceived as a transition year in gainesville. but history suggests (ron zook, mushcamp, meyer...) that coaching transition in gainesville doesn't mean much when we come to town. so........ the over/under should be set at 8 imo.

what i really like about this class and what it means for the future is that it's built from the inside out. we've gotten skill position players in the past few years, and that's been nice. it was exciting when we beat NCSU in ATL a few years ago. but the difference maker in this league is in the trenches, and we got A LOT better there today. better and deeper.

you consider the amount and quality of OL and DL, throw in depth at QB, adding secondary help....man...really, good stuff today.

GA, MO, Bama, ARK are the really tough ones i see. every other game i think is "doable". but i'm far from guaranteeing anything...but that would give us wins against UF and OU, and would be good for our psyche as a fan base. USC can't be our marquee win every year, now can it? :)

anyway, it's been a fun day, and i'm excited...GO VOLS.

Good post.

To me we have 6 games we should win barring a terrible day. There I one we will likely lose barring them playing bad and us playing amazing (bama).

So there are 5 games that make or break the season.

Oklahoma
@UF
Arkansas
Georgia
@Missouri

Good news is 3 are at home. Bad news is there are a few teams on that list we haven't beat in a LONG time.

I think 3-2 is doable and should be the TOP end goal which would put us at 9-3 and could have us in the SEC Title game discussion. That would set us up for even more positive momentum an a CFP run in 2016.

Go Vols.

If OU can reinstate Mixon, surely we can reinstate Paulk (who reportedly did less).

That would be a big boost.

I'd certainly trade a scholarship spot for Paulk for someone like Bullock who's never going to play here.

Also if we are so thin at RB we will likely have to move someone like Evan Berry over there this spring for bodies. That could hurt his development at S.

Now that we know Debord is hired, I am excited to see what he can do to help improve the OL and incorporate some short yardage under center packages for the goal line and 3rd and 4th down situations.

If Mods want to sticky this I'll edit the roster and projected starters as the offseason progresses and the average star rating, ect.

Think it would be good to help people remember how the scholarships are distributed when they want to discuss #'s for the 2016 class ect.

i think 9-3 is a bit aggressive. 3-2 in that 5 games would be very strong. heck, 2-3 would be be pretty darn good.

honestly, and i won't say it "will" happen...but the game that i think we have a great shot it is UGA. we've been on their heels the past couple of years, and i think this year we might have enough to maybe get over the hump against them.

if you really think about it...as bad as we were in some games...the reality is you take away some big, huge turnovers against UGA and OU, mistakes against UF and Ole Miss, we were competitive against most teams we played this year.

the really interesting thing here is how our schedule is set up. in the last 20 years, we've played FL and GA relatively early in the season. UF 2nd/3rd game, UGA 5th/6th. so our marquee SEC E match ups are early, leaving the last half of the season playing catch up after losing to one or both.

now we play both a little bit later. what this does is it gives us a chance to be relevant deeper in to the season. imagine playing UGA at 4-1 at the 1/2 way point? or FL at 3-1 or 4-0?

if we were to show up for the GA game having beaten UF and OU.......you think that might put us on the map? think that might be a HUGE game? what if we were to also beat ARK? oh my............then we play bama next after a buy week.........oh my indeed.

not to say that's how it will shake out...but the potential is there, simply with how our schedule has changed up a bit.

it gives us the opportunity to play more meaningful games, later in the season, thus giving us an opportunity to be in the conversation (relevant) for more than the 1st month of the season, as has been the case for the past 20 years. if we didn't beat UF in week 2 or 3, then we were just a write off the rest of those seasons.

@Florida, Arkansas Georgia stretch weeks 4-6 will define the season and are really the only hard stretch in a row we have.

agreed. thankful there's a bye in between GA/Bama..not that it may matter.....and though we travel to MO this year, i like where it falls on the schedule. boy, i'd love to see what could happen if we could get to 5-0 before we played GA.........sadly still think we're a year away from that kind of talk though.
