Didn’t want to start a new tread for this and not trying to hyjack the OP’s thread, but he did use the word recruiting.
Based on recruiting ranking both FSU and Oh St have recruited better than Tenn over the past several season. Did everyone notice what happened to them after their top QBs were out. They looked terrible. Maybe a top QB is what make the good teams great, or maybe, there is not a huge difference in 1 - 25 and a great QB puts them over the top. Not counting injuries (I know, they happen) most teams play 22 players on offense and 22 on defense in most games. That is 44 players or the equivalent of 2 recruiting cycles. You can either build a team recruiting all 4 & 5* players and recruit over your misses, or you can recruit top 25 and build a team of upper class men who are more mature and have built experience.
