I'm worried that Stenson Bennett hand injury is just an excuse to put in JTD. Maybe Bennett got passed up in practice and are looking for a way to put him in with less pressure.

i don't think much of Kirby Smart as a head coach...but what other excuse would he need to play JTD...if he beat out the kid in practice?

talk about weak...that'd be on the list of all time dumb coaching moves....fake an injury to your starter so you can ease the transfer QB in to action, releive pressure?

if that's what they would have to do, in order to get JTD mentally ready to play, then JTD sucks and is a loser before he even gets started down there.

so as i think about it....yeah, i like the sound of it....hope you're right. lol.....

Another thing to look out for if they bench Stetson for whatever reason: their OL improved massively after he started playing. I think the reason is that he was able to call protections and adjust run blocking far better than the less experienced guys. That makes a huge difference, just look at Auburn last week where Nix has zero control over his protection (see the Jordan Rogers video it’s gold). And if anyone can wreak havoc on poorly called protections its CJP.

that's the primary reason our staff kept going back to JG as the best option for qb last year...he could do all that stuff, and despite the other limitations he had....that stuff is so important to running an effective offense.

Yep and he has gotten even better at it this year. It’s the biggest reason our offense has improved imo

well, i think he's shown, at least in the MO game anyway, to have better command overall.....if we get the same performance out of him in the USCe game as we got in MO, the USCe game is a 10+ point win.....with no stress....

i was very happy to see the jump in performance in week 2....hope that's a sign of things to come the rest of the way.

Reactions: VOLSONLY
I'm sticking with my prediction (that the Vols keep it close for most of the game and end up losing 34-21), but I can't stop thinking about the opportunity that is in front of Tennessee. Have there been bigger games in the last decade? Maybe. But I'm not sure we've had a better opportunity in a long, long time. If Tennessee wins tomorrow, everything changes. They'll be a top 5 team. They'll be the talk of college football. The Vols will be back. It's all right there in front of them. Go out and do it.

For all of kirbys flaws as a head coach, his continued horrendous mismanagement of the Qb position is tops.

Inherited a five star, signed multiple high four and a five star, yet in year 5 he’s starting a former walk on.

Still watching GA/AU again. Bo Nix is just terrible. A lot of this hype about their defense is fake news. I'm not saying they aren't good. But there were several times where the pocket was clean, but Nix was hearing ghosts, and he panics and throws the ball off of his back foot just trying to get rid of it. Watch at 46:30 for example:

Our OL not only will block better, but JG isn't going to do that. Further, they also had receivers open down the field, but Nix missed them multiple times. We need JG to not miss.

Bennett also has a very weak arm. He's under throwing the deep ball every time. That was when he had all day to throw it too. Could've grilled a hamburger before throwing the ball and couldn't come close to putting it where it needed to be. Problem was Jackson was so far beyond the defense he could stand there and wait on the ball to get to him.

Have you predicted a win yet for us? Besides the one I convinced you on before? Lol
Let's see. Muschamp has our number in the past.

Missouri was a noon let down game after scar.

UGA out talents us.

UK is a trap game.

Bama is Bama.

Arkansas has Felipe Franks who knows how to beat us.

Texas AM will be desperate for a win.

Auburn will want revenge and gus will be coaching for his job.

Vanderbilt looks pretty decent and is on the road.

Florida owns us.

0-10 confirmed
