Not a fan of still photos, but here’s the look at 3rd and 5. If shoe steps up in the pocket and hits the A gap, he could have walked for the first down. This is what I meant in the mizzu thread when I said he isn’t a willing runner and that ALONE hinders our offensive production and puts our defense back on the field to play too many snaps

This is what I’m afraid of. Too stubborn to make the necessary changes. Afraid to hurt a 6th yr senior’s ego.

As a leader, you’ve gotta be willing to have tough conversations, and Heupel has shown he’s reluctant to do that based on his handling of Joe. I’ve seen some suggest benching Joe might cause some of the other seniors to check out. While I do think there is some substance to that point, I don’t think as head coach you can allow yourself to be bullied into sticking with a quarterback who can’t play. Gotta be willing to stick the foot in the ground and get everyone on board.
