They didn’t have a 5 star secondary last year either and we struggled plenty.
Lol how did we struggle plenty against their secondary? We passed for 213 on just 25 passes, 2 TDs and 0 int. The year before - 197 on just 20 passes, 2 tds and 0 ints...Let's not create bvs boogeymen where they don't exist.

Yeah you’re right bro - 24 and 17 points we were unstoppable! 🙄

Doesn't change the passing success we have had vs them. Yes Maurer struggled some, but I don't think his head was right either. JG shredded em, even on the ground. Once he came in, we moved with ease. No need to be afraid of their secondary lol

As for points - we had a fumble last year and UK held the ball all game running - 42 of 60 mins ToP. We didn't have many opportunities.

I’m not scared of their secondary, but I am concerned about their entire defense - because they have solid coaches on that side of the ball and have been tough to score against the last few years - and on top of that we will be trotting 2 out there. That scares me more than anything.

I expect to win Saturday. I don’t have BVS, especially against Kentucky. But there might be a new thing called JGS that just won’t seem to go away.

Don't think we will. We had that same chance vs mizzou after a late emotional week 1 win and came out firing.

This doesn't seem to be a team that will let emotions get in the way week to week. We are veteran in the right spots and will take care of business, though maybe it's a bit ugly.
I agree. I could maybe see what he's saying if it were another away game, but I see this team coming home fully pissed off.

Do y’all really believe Pruitt would put JG out there if he didn’t believe he gave us the best chance to win? Like seriously some of y’all are ridiculous this team is still headed in the right direction we will put it on UK this week 35-10
Even highly paid college coaches can be wrong. Mullen thought Franks was a better player than Trask until Trask came in due to injury. and there are a million other examples just like that out there.

My UK buddy thinks the key for them this week is the secondary. If they can keep UT from throwing effectively, they have a shot. If they can’t, he thinks it’s over by halftime.

Tennessee is better than Kentucky and needs to take care of business to show they have the mental fortitude to bounce back. This one could be close but I like the Vols.

Gimme a final of 5-3 as long as it’s a W
Yes and no. Winning ultimately matters, but predictive wise, it would be a very bad sign. Margin of victory says a ton about how good teams actually are, barring outliers.

Either way, spread is 6 pts this week, so a decently close game is expected. But I just have a feeling this will be closer to Mizzou than USCe. All UK really has going for them is their excellent OL...but our DL has stood up well. It comes down to 2nd level tackling and this is a game Toots, Banks, Crouch can feast with their strengths.

We will score on them efficiently. Our defense just has to get off the field, which they never did last year. The worst part of our team to this point has been pass defense and they don't threaten us there at all.

Lmao...that's the example you use? I mean Trask hadn't played a game of football since his freshman year in High school...can't really blame that one on Mullen.

Eason at Georgia playing over Fromm who clearly was the better QB for the offense... Worley and Peterman playing over Josh Dobbs.... Let me know if you need more :)

Change the QB, change the trajectory of the program. Not our decision - it's Jeremy's. Until he does, don't take the program all that seriously and you will not be as disappointed when second halves like happened at UGA occur. Add in that other than a couple of good passes in the first half, there was no real O. Enjoy that there is football in this mess of a year and be happy with 5-5 or better. Just know you are one season closer to JG running out of eligibility.

Believe it or not, you can win a lot of games by having a great O and a mediocre D. Bama's been doing it for 3 seasons now. UF does it frequently.

I am not convinced we are that good. KY OL is good and I think we struggle to stop the running game. Our secondary has not played particularly well and they have just enough of a passing game to give us a hard time. Hate to say it but KY 27 Vols 20.

It would be nice just to see the other Qbs for a few series. Clemson did it with Lawrence after Bryant was coming off a great year and had led them to the playoff the year before. Bryant was 16-2 as a starter. Lawrence out performed him in his opportunities and was named the starter. There's really no reason not to give the others some time.
