McDonald was not in position- he got beat. I’m pretty sure they are taught not to look if they are over a yard behind.
Seeing the ball is an equalizer when you’re a step behind. They are taught to read through the eyes and hands of the receiver… like when Slaughter tried to rip the arm of the WR that caught one on him… ddi exactly what he was taught to do but couldn’t rip through.

It’s a top of convo between secondary coaches but the proof is in the results.
Like Jalen Ramsey (when he was elite) he didn’t have a lot of picks but was shut down compared to Diggs that had like 10 or so last year… one looks and one doesn’t it… both get it done…

We have an scheme that needs turnovers… so we need to see the ball…
