yeah, freshman looking like a freshman. but i'll give him credit too...he did get beat....but he didn't go 0fer the whole night. he settled in and had a pretty good game for a college debut on the road in the SEC.

he'll be fine. and those reps and film work will help him a lot going forward. when gets to go in now, it won't be deer in the headlights.....he should have some confidence coming out of that game.

all that said, glad sham is back.... :)

Slaughter looked good for a freshman. Really athletic. Aggressive. Great instincts. Good Blitzer. Nothing but high hopes for him.

I think he was listed on week ones depth chart too. But it is a good thing that he is listed. Hope he is back.

Y’all, I’m feeling it. I’m believing it. JG has improved. I’m gonna have a Weinke avi and I don’t care. I think JG’s struggles are because he hasn’t practiced with his receivers. First game, it was sloppy. He gets it together and just hits his wide open targets and we blow SC off the field. They rarely stopped us. We stopped ourselves due to drops and overthrows.

Mizzou is awful. JG put up 400 yards on them last year. They are worse, we are better. They have like 13 dudes who have opted out. Their QB is garbage, their OL and DL are garbage. We are better than them everywhere.

This game will be over at half time and we get to watch Shrout and the freshmen wide receivers have fun in the second half

I’m believing he is better too even after the overthrows. Hopefully our coaches fix that pressure that was getting up the middle that caused a few over throws.

Our defense is going to take a huge step. Not worried there at all.

Everything with JG is fixable. If he does it, we’ll win 8 games this year. At least. All we need is for him to hit open receivers. That’s it.

I second this. I rewatched that 24 minute condensed version and I think that was arguably the best JG I've seen.

Better than the Missouri game last year.

He played like a guy that knew what he was doing and the reason why I think it was the best he has done is because he was operating the offense in a much faster and controlled manner than I have seen. Like his pace was faster and it carried our momentum. He got the ball out quicker. Arm looked stronger. He ran faster. The decision making was almost perfect. With him, you're gonna get some throws that go over some guys heads. But if that's the worst we have to deal with then we will be alright. If that is Baseline JG then we are fine with him.

Our biggest mistakes of the game was when we didn't go for it on fourth down and one where Brent missed the kick and passing it three times when we got the ball back with momentum at the 8 minute mark. That was supposed to be Chandler time.

I bet we have a very underwhelming, basic game against Mizzou. Bet we jump out early to a double digit lead, then just play bland football to close it out.

Keep things under wraps for what we plan to do to uga. Not give them anything on film to prepare for.

Would love to have that luxury but doubt we get it.
