I fill like we are firmly in that 2nd tier. We are a very good team. But we aren’t tier one with Bama, Fl, or Ga yet. I think we beat Ga next week but we aren’t on that level of talent yet to really contend.

To get there we need elite players on the DL and at edge. We have a good DL, but no one special. We need to recruit those guys (hopefully we already are and have been) and we also need a game changer at QB. JG is a slightly above average QB. If we hit on Bailey or Salter or someone we’ll have a chance to make a major jump. But we are firmly in that 2nd tier

Still 3rd in the East on talent level but Georgia is suspect this year because they have a QB problem if we beat them..the players you speak of that we need will sky rocket us over night in recruiting and the phones would be hot. That’s where the decade of the vols will really begin...beating Georgia is a MUST this year.now is our time.

Covid screwed up any real chance they’d see any PT this year, atleast for the first 4-5 games. Coach still trying to build that continuity on the o line. Defensively those db’s need all the Reps they can get

I think we're being slightly over-critical to be honest. Sham was out and Bryce wasn't really prevalent today and we still won 35-12. Bama won 38-19 and gave up a similar amount of passing yards to that other QB who is straight slaw
