I’ve been anxious for past couple days about this one…mainly because what it means to the season and the perceived continued trajectory of the program. Win this game, and we should be 9-3 minimum with a chance to get to 10 wins based on next week’s game or winning bowl game. That will be huge to continue the trajectory upward. Winning today will also give us a better “fair chance” next week against Georgia and the refs. Lose today and we probably will not get a fair whistle next week, and will be staring 8-4 in the face, which might be perceived as neutral or trending down a little. How we feeling today? I’m getting more nervous as kickoff approaches.

8-4 would make things a little shaky. Especially if we lost a bowl game and went 8-5That perceived trajectory is only in Vol fans heads. 8-4 and 9-3 both keep the momentum rolling. The only outcome that changes anything is a W over UGA.

I think a loss today really hurts. Shouldn't be losing to Mizzou in year three. Not acceptable.
I think it creates doubt in our ability to exist as one of the top programs in the country. It doesn’t hurt anything except how local media and fans talk about the program. Biggest negative factors surrounding UT. Fans can also be a positive but any any time the current iteration of the Vols doesn’t reach fan expectations then the loud parts of the fan base become toxic.
It’s Y3 after the program has been dead for 15 years. Everybody take a deep breath.
Also I don’t expect 8-4, just talking hypotheticals.

Losing to a program that you've destroyed 187 to 80 since 2019 would be an abject failure. Who cares how much better they've gotten and that they are at home. It does not bode well if we lose this game.
Win and everything is totally fine and nobody really complains. Lose and it's rightfully concerning. And embarrassing...
This ref loves us. As I said my sources were telling me we're getting a favorable whistle todayI found that the head ref is Jason Autrey ( I think). He called our game against UTSA. Don’t think he has called any other games of ours. The interesting thing I found is he has apparently never played a down of football. How do guys like that get gigs in D1 football?
