‘23 Recruiting Forum: Official Virginia Pregame/Game Thread

I liked how Joe gathered himself after a couple of bad possessions. Two years ago he couldn't get it back together when things got off script.

Nice bounce back but it was easy. He'll need to overcome adversity this year to win a couple of games. I hope he keeps this energy going.

I love the way he's coaching up Nico. That's big for the future. He is the literal definition of great teammate, he's out there leading the Nico cheers out there.

And that Nico chant is big for recruiting, kids see that and want to be a part of it.

Uhh…did you see the stat line?

29 carries for 90 rushing yards

I mean damn effective passing attack, but that was a very lopsided pass to rush play calling.
Based on the highlights, several of their scores were swing passes, which are essentially wide hand offs. They killed TCU on the outside. S. Sanders was sacked 5 times, so they clearly wanted to get wide.

No they aren’t, that was TCU last season. Totally different team, TCU could lose 4+ this year.
Even if TCU loses 4 games, it’s a huge story. People just don’t want to admit it. I’m a believer in criticizing when necessary and praising when necessary. You have to give them their praise. That school has been an absolute disaster.

Still pass heavy. Saying that isn’t a negative nor is it baseless.

They ran 20 more pass plays than runs, and the difference in yardage is even more drastic. Sanders can sling it no doubt. TCU isn’t a great defensive team though especially against the pass, they finished 97th in passing yards given up last season.

I am curious to see how Colorado looks against a good defensive team, still a big win though.

No, I really don’t have to give someone else any credit unless it has something to do with Tennessee Volunteers.

All of what you said is true, but that doesn’t mean Prime is padding stats for his son. That’s what another poster said was baseless, and it it is just speculation. They did it and won the game.

All time passing yardage set in very 1st game for the buffs

I didn't care for Deion's way over spring but in back of my mind I had to admit there might be some toxic, dead weight that needed to be cut

It says a lot about how a man reacts when he sees another man having success

Never fear though, in a week or two he will lose and confirmation bias can be reestablished

Milton at some point will be forced to win a game...he has the ability if he would just stay calm.
I really wish Keaton had not dropped that perfect long throw. It would have been the highlight in the highlight reel, the media conversation would have been about Joe's touch.

Is the slowed down tempo in the redzone a new tack to increase efficiency...get everybody on the same page?

Keyton makes that catch and I think Milton easily goes for 300+. But instead he fought through a rough patch while efficiently leading the offense to TD after TD. His stats weren’t there in the end, but he showed he has composure.
That was one of the biggest things Hooker brought for us, so good to see it with Milton.

Has anyone seen any of Golesh's team's game?

Sorry: I though I was in the football talk thread.
