I think Bajakian's seat should slowly heat up.

Sick of this offense. Run scheme is awful, no play action, not utilizing the middle of the field, too predictable, etc.

You don't win by being nice to your staff, Butch. Time to nip this crap in the bud.

I agree.

I like the zone running scheme, but we are not very diverse at all with our run game. It's all inside zone with the occasional outside zone. Run more sweeps. Use some power as a change up. Inside zone is a good play, but not if it's all you run.

The lack of passes over the middle is baffling, but I don't know if that's playcalling or Worley. The few playaction concepts (TE to the flat) we run are so predictable that they've become ineffective.

The biggest fear I have with Butch is that the offense will never evolve and he won't let Bajakian go if it ever came to that.

+1. Every single run play looks like we're running a delayed draw. The running backs being at a standstill combined with our OL is a recipe for disaster.

Ya, if Worley is only going to keep it twice per game, they need to straight up hand it off so the RB can at least pick up some speed. This OL isn't good enough to make big holes for an RB who is standing still when he gets the handoff

Right, I agree. I think if what could happen in next few weeks happens, then it could get hot for sure.

I don't think it should be a "hot" seat currently. I do think next week will open some eyes in a bad way, though.

Defense looks great, though.

84 plays on offense and they really slowed down at the end and had some really poor "drives" as well. I hope Von and Wolf are alright. The running game looked better but still needs some work. We still didn't have enough passes that really stretched the field vertically. We have a lot of work to do to get ready for OK next week. Rest up and get back to work. Go Vols!

It looked like the gameplan was to showcase Pearson and things started to get rusty once he left. And when Wolf left, it looked like last year's offense with a little more experience. Crossing fingers for those 2

Watch the way Hurd ran in high school. Single back set, QB under center.

This offense doesn't highlight the capability of our talented running stable.

Hurd would do fine in this system if Worley kept it more and/or the OL wasn't awful.

I'm not as down on the running scheme as I am the passing scheme. The run plays we call are fundamentally sound. The line is just awful right now. My main problem with the runs from a schematic standpoint is I wish we used a little more gap runs, such as power and counter. We use counter maybe twice a game but it's usually pretty effective.

I don't mind the scheme as much as others, because I love the problem it presents on the outside.. We just aren't very talented on the O-Line for any scheme

It's not maxing what he can do though.

The OL sure doesn't help. They're bad. I think this goes a bit further than that though.

I disagree, he can be equally great in any system. The biggest benefit of our system to Hurd would be that the DL isn't sure who's going to run the ball, so he could use his speed to get yards while they try to guess. With Worley never keeping, that benefit is totally gone, and the negative of Hurd starting flat footed instead of running forward causes terrible ypc.

Looking back, Alex Ellis' play was a game changer. It is going to be a long year if oline does not improve.

The run plays are very slow developing. That's part of the problem.

Bad OL + slow developing plays = what we are seeing.
