Recruiting Forum: UNofficial South Carolina Pre-Game Thread

Finally a better matchup.. If defense can contain them some, Vols on top. Calling a closer one 24-21 Vols win. All comes down to Dobbs playing smart and staying consistent. Hurd could have a huge day. They'll test Williams and Mosely a lot. Sutton will shut it down. Have to stop their running game..Should be a great game like last year...

Our OLine played a little better last week, hopefully they show up tonight. Plus, the mobility factor of Astro is nice to have, fits the scheme way better too.

Over/under on sacks tonight?? 4

If we can get the Defensive effort that we did against Ole Miss and Florida when the offense was laying eggs, we will win easy. I think we get up by multiple scores and SC starts chunking it playing comeback. Vols by 10.

They played georgia pretty well in the rain. Hopefully we play a turnover free night. No turnovers, then I think we win. Every position needs to end with a kick

I was at that game....I wouldn't call it rain. More like a 5 minute misting. Never put my rain gear on

It's going to happen. He looks good back there. He's strong with good vision and long speed.

I was getting very tired of seeing nothing but stop, cut, stop, look for a lane, get tackled (by the other dude). Just find and fully commit to a lane, lower your shoulder, and bulldoze through at your highest speed. That is what I saw from Evan last week and I loved it.

Btw, has Gaulden played any? I know they have McDowell at OLB now, correct? What are you thoughts at moving him there and on Gaulden so far this year, BB?

He's made some good ST plays.

Evan definitely looks good back there, hopefully he got his freshman fumbles out of the way with that 2nd KR and he's good from here.

Devrin didn't have amazing ball security, he just got tackled by the first guy, so there was no chance of someone hitting him unexpectedly from a different angle.

Evan actually looks for lanes. He's shedding arm tackles very well.

Gaulden is still slim and looks like a CB. He flashes on special teams.

McDowell looks a lot like JRM this year. He's tenacious on special teams. I've never seen him at LB but we'll see soon what he does. He's fast though and can hit.

Anybody would've fumbled that ball. Dude helmet hit his forearm and the ball perfectly. Nothing he could do there.

Evan Berry will break one before the year out. Bama stopped kicking to him after one return.

SN: hope he hurry up and learns the defense he's needed at FS.

Which is why he should be the only guy back there. DY was back there alone with Pickett in front of him. Putting Foreman with Berry is just begging teams to kick to Foreman.

So Evan fits at FS?

Gaulden should be ready next year if he just needs to bulk up. Gonna be a tackling machine again.

McDowell I am absolutely excited for. I thought they moved him to OLB? Maybe they moved him back. I dunno. I always though he would be a great safety with TKjr. Those two could be siiiiick together.

McDowell was at olb last I heard. Berry was at fs during garbage time against utc I think.

I really hope you guys are right. Just keep getting gut punched every time I think we will do well.

This is what put me over. Their best player on D by far. I think we squeak by.
Exactly what I'm thinking. Their defense is the worst in the league. If we can keep hold of the ball (0-1 turnovers) and score 20+ I think we've got this.

Bump. This is like us losing JRM. Skai is very good

My final prediction for this game 27-20 Vols

Skai is good, but not that good. He's undersized at LB, and while he is the leading tackler from what I understand others are right there with him. I've heard his backup is supposed to be more talented and better built as a run stopper but inexperienced.

This is not the case at all IMO. Only thing I agree with is being undersized.

Not sure where you got your info, but you're entitled to your opinion
