Not sure what this speed/power business is all about. We look to have more of both right now.
 
Of course we got screwed on a play. We should have had the ball. No one knows what to do because it was beyond stupid to do that.

Ya I'm pretty sure you can't have a forward pass on a return. Did they call incomplete pass? If they recover, it's illegal, but it's still a fumble.
 
It wasn't a pass! You can't just throw a ball on the kickoff and not have it be a fumble!

I dont know if college has a different rule, but in the NFL rule book it is considered an illegal forward pass and can only be "recovered" or advanced by the defense if caught in the air. There's a few similar examples in the rule itself.

It was the right call. Still one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.

No doubt. Just like a forward lateral. It's illegal but you can recover it.
