Recruiting Forum: UNofficial Utath State Pre-Game Thread

We need to make some halftime adjustments. OL may need to give some chances to some other guys.

Thomas, Blair, ect.

Would like to see a good look at Lane and more use of TE.

D fense, keep flying around.

Agreed completely here. Especially on Lane and the TE.

Though I do feel the coaches wouldn't be playing these linemen if they weren't the best we have. Which is kinda scary.

The offense has to improve in about every aspect. Get the ball to the TEs, North, and Croom. Quit trying to get it to Pig one on one. OL needs to step up and start opening up some holes in the run game.

We complain and react during the game. We can be better, but we have played 16 or more true freshman and we are up 17-0 at halftime against a team we were favored by 4 against.

Lets keep that a bit in perspective.

I think most everyone has good perspective...just making in the moment observations. One thing the last few years has shown is that you cannot put too much stock in the first game of the season.

Hopefully we settle down offensively in the second half. Ugly game that seemed much closer than 17-0 at times. Lots of guys need to grow up quickly. Pleased overall though. Defensive is nasty.

I would say Utah State is a lot better than Austin Peay. That doesn't mean this game tells the story of our season, but there is a lot more to learn from it.

Hurd gets more just because of his size and strength. He takes a hit and falls forward. Lane seems to do a better job avoiding tacklers.

I think coaches know the OL is giving up ground to the DL and they need a bigger back to carry some people at least back to the LOS

Or the first half of a game. Still 30 minutes to go

Let's not forget that Utah St is really good at stopping the run. That is the strength of their team. Penalties seem to be killing us the most.

If (big IF) we shut this team out, that's a big improvement over those other wins. I'm buying stock in this D.

Concern lies with the OL

Is it me or does Worley seem to key on one receiver for about three plays in a row then shifts to another for three or so plays?
