Rivals100 running back Mack Brown said that he was shocked at the news of coach Meyer's resignation. He said that the only coach he has spoken with so far is running back coach Kenny Carter. Brown said that he remains committed to the Gators. Obviously Tennessee has been all over him for a couple of months now, and the news of Meyer's departure is only going to significantly increase their recruiting efforts toward him.

Matt Elam:

In a text exchange with Chris Nee, five-star safety prospect Matt Elam denied that he has switched his commitment from UF to FSU.

Obviously, Urban Meyer was the biggest reason he was committed to Florida in the first place. It was his relationship with Meyer, which began over 10 years ago when Meyer recruited his brother Abram to Notre Dame, that he has cited time and again as one of the biggest factors in his decision.

This is an important recruiting class for the gators, they are going to lose a descent amt of juniors so every recruit they lose sets them back a little bit more

Honestly, unless they were told days ago, then a de-commit tonight would be low class.

It was down to UT and UF a couple of months ago... However, he was recruited by Gran so that now puts FSU in there as a serious contender! I believe Kiffin, Kiffin, & Coach O will be after this kid hard... he's extremely talented and already has interest in UT! 2-Man race between UT & FSU!

Hard to call it a two man race just yet. He's still committed to UF. While it may be likely that he opens things back up, let's not write of UF, OR WVU.

You are correct in principle that UF is still in the mix, but put yourself in the recruits' shoes! What if all the coaches that called you during your recruitment and the ones that convinced you to come there LEFT?! I think you'd start looking at your 2nd favorite, wouldn't you?

I would think so. They were sold by these coaches on a system that would utilize thier talents. If the coaches leave, then what system is coming in? Same issue's Kiffin had last year with the offense. Yeah he runs a SC offense but had no film to show them.

Do you guys/ladies think we can steal their RB coach? That would put us in a better spot to "steal" some guys.
