Wasn't Tennessee high on his list? He probably would not have lasted here, but we would have had the best offense in SEC football history. (although we would have probably found a way to lose to Florida)

Seems like I remember that westside, what was it? I have been banned from posting over there, so refresh my memory.

ESPN 30 for 30: Rand University, Tues Evening

Marshall offered him more money to play there.

He considered UT but I think Notre Dame, OSU, and UF were the most likely places for him to land. Notre Dame couldn't get him passed admissions and OSU and UF backed off because of criminal charges against him. I think he got into a fight with a kid in high school and injured him. Ended up with Marshall.

At least that's what I remember.

I think the story goes something like he never really wanted to come here so on his visit he sat in the dorm room with one of the current players the whole time and ate pancakes.

Randy moss signed with FSU out of high school. He was arrested and charged with possession of Marijuana at FSU. Bobby Bowden kicked him off the team and he transferred to Marshall.

I believe that Peyton was his host, and when he arrived, he just wanted to go to the pool. My memory is bad, but that's what I remember

Yea, he was bored, it was snowing, and he asked to go to the indoor pool. He repeatedly jumped off the high dive while his host/hostess sat there and watched. Lol.

He signed with Notre Dame, but was denied admission following a fight where he kicked a white student while he was down. He was charged with a felony and plead down to misdemeanor charges and sentenced to 30 days in jail. He served 3 days in jail, and enrolled at FSU, where the NCAA denied him immediate eligibility. He then redshirted at FSU and was ordered to serve the remaining 27 days the summer following his freshman year. He tested positive for marijuana, which violated his parole, and he was required to serve an additional 60 days.He then enrolled at Marshall so as to not have to sit another year as a transfer (they were 1-AA at the time).

I remember watching the Heisman tragedy the night Peyton got screwed. Moss was one of the 4 guys who received the most votes. He sat up there like a "gangsta-rapper" with all black on, chains, etc. The other guys in suits/ties. I didn't think much of him, but when they showed his video.......I thought "Good Lord...who is this guy?" He looked like a deer running down the field and no one could keep up. Cuts on a dime. I thought he looked unstoppable with the ball in his hands. Too bad his parents didn't do a better job.

screwed and losing to a guy who deserved votes are two totally different things

I don't normally do this sort of thing, but a good friend of mine directed this film. It's pretty great. You should watch it.
