I'll paraphrase so I don't upset midfielder again, this is from rob Lewis today @ the peach jam...

He spoke with nick king, and nick reiterated to him what has been said, Tennessee is "firmly" in his top 4. As for how Tennessee got back in the mix, king credits Martin For building a strong relationship with him, and still plans to visit.

He also spoke with j. Johnson ...Said he has been in contact with the Tennessee staff, And is seriously considering the vols. he has yet to trim his list however, and With the Vols pushing for Hubbs they don't have much room to push too hard for Johnson.

I'll say I take this as the staff feels VERY good about hubbs. To basically part win thornwell, and to be easing up on Johnson, that's a very good sign IMO.

wish there was a way to identify each thread as either football, baseball, or basketball. Hate seeing these recruiting threads, getting all excited and then finding out its basketball. I know its important too, just not as much during football season ....which is year round IMO. :)

Is it really that hard to just check the football and recruiting forums instead of looking at the new posts screen?

I'll give you a hint. Look at who posts it. 99% of the time it is bleedingTNvol or zansdad. If either one of them post it, it is about bball.

Another hidden trick I use.... if the post is in the Basketball forum it probably is not about football recruiting.

Where did you hear that? Haven't heard that he's leaning one way or another, except that we are in gold shape.

At the very least, suffice it to say that Martin is going "balls out" (quote from Scotty Hopson after Kansas win) to get Nichols.

I love it when we're in GOLD shape with a recruit.

I'd agree with that assessment. We've been pretty mum on recruiting Thornwell for a while now and Johnson's recruitment has been a little more steady. We've really made it known that Hubbs is our top wing priority and is being sought out to be a foundation piece of the team and not just a supporting cast role. Hopefully, Hubbs sees this and jumps at the chance to be a focal point on the team.

Anytime Duke offers, the normal perspective is they are a heavy Duke lean. We are far from out of it though and think we sign him.

Great news about Nick King. With all this Memphis elite chatter, there is NO WAY we strike out on all these guys. We are bound to get a couple and any of them would be huge gets for us!!!

I think Arkansas could compete, at least they have been pretty hard at him but honestly feel like it's UT's to lose.

but at the same time, if Hubbs and Nichols are playing together, that wouldn't work. I'm just wondering how much of a package deal they are. I've heard many times they want to play together. I would assume that impacts their decision somewhat.
