Recruiting Update 9/28

JW3 was in the first point, Coach Martin met with him this week.

Thanks BTO! Keeping up with recruiting is fun when UT is targeting so many good players!

No we definitely haven't cooled, we're gonna go down swinging. He will announce October 18th, has visits to Michigan state and Texas before then.

Consensus seems to be that Georgetown leads, but not by much. I'd put us in the top 3 along with Mizzou, but like I said trailing Georgetown.

Just a few things...

-CCM visited with Nichols and J3 both this week, and also checked in on current committs Hubbs & Davis. As posted in another thread, he was also at CPA for a 6am work that featured 2 targets, Jalen Lindsey and Braxton Blackwell.

- For those of you interested in a big man, here ya go. CCM tweeted a picture of Busch Stadium yesterday and asked if you could guess his location? Keanu Post, a 6'11" big man happens to attend Southwern Illinois College (juco), and CCM stopped in to check him out. He is a guy who's attracting many high major schools already, look for us to monitor him throughout the year.

- Rob Lewis and Volquest are reporting that Tennessee has gained momentum in the last week with Austin Nichols, and that he's obviously their top remaining priority. While Lewis says he isn't ready to call Nichols a lock, things are looking very good for Tennessee heading into their October 20th visit.

- Maybe the biggest news, Robert Hubbs is expected to return to Tennessee campus on....October 20th....I'll let you figure out the importance here. (Look at the note right above)

- It seems like things have cooled with Rimmer, not clear if that was mutual or one side or the other, but I don't expect to hear much of Rimmer and Tennessee mentioned together. Alex Foster is the only other recruit who is scheduled to visit Tennessee officially at this point, and that is scheduled to take place October 9th.

- Rob Lewis is also clearing up the Alec Peters situation...apparently there was some miscommunication with the staff and Peters. He HAS NOT been offered a schoarship, and at this point Lewis says an offer is not expected. With Wisconsin and Illinois waiting to see what happens in spring before they decide to offer or not, it may be that is what Tennessee is also doing.

Excellent info, thanks.

Originally from Victoria, British Columbia. Sounds like a big-time project based on his stats last year, but he had offers from Washington State, New Mexico State & Utah State coming out of Westwind Prep (in Arizona). Post's coach at Westwind had this to say about him two years ago: "Big bodied post with decent feet and hands. Can run the floor and has improved with weight loss. Can knock down 15footer. Back to basket is strength. Needs upper body power to finish in traffic. Passionate about game. Coachable. Tremendous upside and has H Majors interested..."

Post is #45 in this video; his build is similar to Brian Williams'.

Yea he's already attracting some pretty good high major attention heading into the year, Cincy and Washington State are two. Will definitely be a guy to keep an eye on and see if anything comes of it.
