You do realize we finished 35th a few years ago, right?
At least we had lost our entire offensive staff in 2006 & 2008 to partially explain what happened; it's far more disconcerting to have your whole staff, a whole year to recruit, and be nowhere near even the top-half of the SEC in recruiting at the mid-point of the recruiting season.
The gap in talent isn't too wide to compete if you can start finishing in the top ten though. We are probably looking at finishing around 13 this year from what I've seen so far. This is likely going to be a three year deal before we are able to compete for the SEC title again though.
This pretty much shows your using a double standard to form your opinions. You point to a turnover in offensive staff as the reason for the low rating but don't acknowledge we lost almost the entire staff this year. This is the third time in three years we've had a change at HC. The whole year to recruit is absolutely hilarious. At least we had lost our entire offensive staff in 2006 & 2008 to partially explain what happened; it's far more disconcerting to have your whole staff, a whole year to recruit, and be nowhere near even the top-half of the SEC in recruiting at the mid-point of the recruiting season.
