Recruiting seems slow now because we are usually concetrating on a bowl game during Dec. It will pick up after all the bowl games end. Alot of recruits like to commit on national TV during the East West Army all american highschool game. I think thats what the game is called, anyway I think last yr we had 4 or 5 commit during that game.

ill take what we get. we just need to start devoloping talent like we used to. i think that with cut there, we will be okay when it comes to developing the talent... just like the days of old.

On the bright side I'm sure am glad that we lead the nation in PK commitments. We probably need to recruit 2 or 3 more.

i agree patrick. i don't see us having a top 25 class. it is real simple, we will do allright on defense. on offense however i just don't see fulmer being able to persuade many elite players. when a offense looks that bad, what can you say.

Not sure of the number, but don't we have a very small amount of scholly's to even offer this year? Hard to have a great year when the numbers force you to cherry pick the talent pool. You know who you want, but likely won't get all of them. Glad it's not my job, I'd never sleep!

I simply believe today's youth have seen year after year after year of a slow, underproducing, predictably boring, antique 8 play scheme, that's certainly not been exciting offense for anyone to watch. Unfortunately, until that m.o. changes...really who would be excited about coming to UT.

This is not a hard thing to figure out. UT has got to update.

Just an FYI for you guy/gals on here. The Brent Vinson kid from Hampton VA has put off his decision until he goes to UVA for his official visit. He is from Phoebus high school, not Bethel, where Duke Crews is from. From all I have heard he is an exceptional player, I know he scored 33 pts in his last basketball game. Hopefully he will come to Rocky Top, but you never know.

I also went to see the Rivals.com #1 rated player Percy Harvin. His team lost the state championship game and he was basically a non-factor. He was double teamed the whole game, but I was dissapointed he didn't break off a long run. I know TN is not in the running with this kid, and he has had some off the field troubles as well. He apparently was suspended for two games earlier for some trouble he caused.

Hopefully we can get the Vinson kid. Whatever happens I believe things will workout, but then again I am an optimist unlike some.

yeah we are close to two, but thats all i can tell you. I don't have access past the opening page on the rivals website. I hate that, i pay for internet, but then i have to pay again to look at things on it. It just kills me.

Dont forget that we had a Top 3 recruiting class with a large number of signings last season. If are new coaches "develop" the HUGE amount of talent that we have then this years recruiting class is not the biggest priority. The talent they already have at UTK is awesome. A one year dip in a year with limited schollys is not going to break the bank. However, with that said, I pay at rivals.com and get to read all the articles and I guarantee you we will have a better class than what some people on here are thinking. It will be Top 25 nationally.
