Not panicking yet, but we're number 61 on Rivals.

Our results with top 10 and top 15 classes hasn't been great recently.

CJP was named recruiter of the year once - this is his opportunity to become a legend.

Giddy up.

The fact that you are posting is proof that you are panicking!!!

Geezus! It's not as simple as rolling out the orange carpet. In spite of all the 'you are choosing a school rhetoric, it is about relationships. AND there's a record number of P5 coaching changes the same year that an early signing period is initiated. It is what it is. We'll get our share based on relationships and lose some for the same reasons. I'm impressed one week in. Step away from the ledge loser....

Brace yourselves for an average recruiting class. Honestly we'll still have a good class BC of the sheer talent in the Southeastern region but it's going to be a little like Dooley's classes. We'll get a lot of the 3 and 4 stars that other programs have passed on. This is a function of Tennessee being down for years and having a terrible perception problem regionally and nationally, also early signing further screws us BC recruiting is mostly about relationships.

Next year we'll clean up, staff has too many awesome recruiters to fail.

You do realize that Dooley's classes were 7th, 14th, and 19th. We still have time and Pruitt is suppose to be a world class recruiter. I'd like to see some results.

The truth of the matter:

(A) We're going to have a disappointing recruiting class, and
(B) It doesn't matter that much

We knew back in October that the recruiting class was going to take a huge hit. This is old news. Recruiting is a relationship-business and it's tough to put together a top class in a few weeks. I wouldn't judge this staff based on the 2018 class. If we finish in the top 25, that's a win as far as I'm concerned. Judge JP and his staff based on the 2019 class. That will tell us the real story.

The one thing I would say is that I do hope JP is able to get us a couple of blue chip WRs. WR is such a desperate position of need right now. Getting Alontae Taylor is big. Would like to get 1-2 more like him. Getting an OL or two would be nice, as well, but aside from WR and OL, we have depth at most positions. We can afford one average class (2018), but not two (2019).

Stop panicking and pay attention. CJP has been here almost two weeks. Getting a lot of attention from some high profile guys. Getting kids to cancel visits to come see us and he doesn’t even have a full staff yet. Pruitt is putting his name on this class.

Last time I checked is was not February

I keep saying this. Not sure why everyone is so freaked out by the early signing period. It really is no different than previous years. Only difference is the early enrollees can go ahead and sign the LOI instead of waiting till February, where before they were enrolled but could not sign yet. Most kids will not graduate until May so they wait until February.

The term "early signing period" has everyone on edge. It's really ridiculous.

Yes, but dooley had til feb. not next week. As another poster in this thread said many kids make their choice based on relationships. Coach "P" and limited staff don't have time for this. (unless they come from Ala.prospects or where ever he and staff had hade time to develop relationships with high-schoolers) Lets hope that if he indeed has to recruit guys thought to be just a little under top rankings, that he and staff can develop them. (unlike the last staff)

A good class this year could really help due to how many seniors they'll have next year. It's concerning.

Everyone is forgetting that these coaches already have relationships with many more players than what their previous schools will be signing. I'm like another poster on here, I believe we will come in around 15th maybe better.
