This also happens to be the 65th anniversary of Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier. He commemorated it by doing it again in an F-15. The USAF still flight qualifies him

The fact that the Air Force allows an 89 year old man take out a 30 million dollar fighter should tell you how much of a bada$$ he is.

Seriously. Kittinger said in interviews at the first part of his jump the air is so thin that you hear no sounds of wind resistance while falling, just complete silence. That alone would freak me out.
