IDK, I think in the original it went a long way that Jed & Matt witnessed their father gunned down and how they viewed the enemy. Is there a bigger picture? Sure, but it's pretty easy to believe that some of it can get pretty personal too.

You almost had to have come of age in the 70s and 80s to really get the full effect of the movie. It was a perfect movie for the time.

Me too. Now the enemy looks different in the movie based on current times.

I still never understand how they got to Colorado without anyone noticing. But apparently this new one takes place in my Northwest.

I'm only judging this off the trailer but it seems they kinda lose the point of the original. It was just a bunch of kids and friends that got together and raised hell with an insurgency of sorts. Introducing a trained military type as the lead just gets away from that.

I may still watch but once it gets to dvd

As many as they can. Most of these remakes suck, but they keep coming because people keep paying to see them.
