Bill Simmons has been talking bout this happening for a couple weeks, but still hard to believe.

Guess it is LaRussa's job, huh?

I don't think it makes any difference at all, other of course than to Terry Francona. He didn't really do anything when they won and he didn't do anything when they choked. He's always been the same guy who managed those crappy Phillies teams. It's not like firing a football coach; it doesn't matter much.

As a Braves fan, I'm mostly interested in the reaction of the two teams to equally horrific choke jobs. The Red Sox are dumping the most successful manager they've ever had. The Braves are standing pat with a staff that hasn't done anything. Failure's fine at the Ted.

As a Sox fan this is BS IMO, Francona doesn't deserve to be the scapegoat in all this. He is the most successful manager we've had, brought Boston 2 WS. I think he is a very good manager. If anyone deserves to be fired or ran out of town it's Theo IMO, I've never liked the guy. He can work wonders in the trade market & MLB Draft but when it comes to signing FAs he has to be one of the worst in baseball. Our FO spends more $ making players go away than they do spending money to players that are productive.

If there is any truth to the stuff about Red Sox players getting out of shape over the course of the year and going soft, then he should be canned.

A players coach is one thing, but when you lose the clubhouse, you're done.

After all, that's the only thing a MLB manager does.

If the rumor about the players being out of shape, etc. is true, he definitely should be fired.

If it's not, knee jerk reactions don't usually work out that well.

b/c of all the little subtle jabs you take at me, Idk what ever set you off on me but its obvious you have an issue w/ my posting. Yea I dont know where apostrohes go, I never acted like I did. I dont speak perfect english, never acted like I have. But I guess b/c you do all those it makes you a better person or poster than me.

who said I was better? Why is your base assumption that anyone would think using decent English is better than not?

I'm not a better poster than you and don't claim such. Why such a problem with my responses to your broken English if it's OK? Seems to me that you shouldn't care since it's no big deal.
