F the Cards. I wish Cueto would've landed that kick right into Carpenter's mouth last year.

There's always something, every single series with these clubs. I love it, especially as long as the Reds keep dominating

No way. Cards/cubs rivalry trumps it IMO.

Cards/Cubs have and always will be rivals and in a traditional sense the Cubs will always be the #1 rival. St. Louis/Chicago rivalries in baseball date back to the 1880s with the original Browns and White Sox.

That said, there isn't more hate in the game right now between two teams than the Reds and Cards. The managers loathe each other, Jocketty has a chip on his shoulder towards the Cards, the players don't like each other, and oh yeah, one of the two teams will win the Central. It makes for fun, although I wouldn't use the word rivalry to describe it. It's just two good teams that can't stand each other.

However, In 5 years this whole thing will have died down and the Cards/Cubs will still go on as rivals until the end of time.

Btw, TLR should shut the hell up, Marty was dead on about the league's biggest crybaby dbag (Carpenter) and the league's oldest 1st grader (Duncan).

I'd play against these guys with one leg. We have to beat these guys. I hate the Cardinals. All they do is ***** and moan about everything, all of them, they're little *****es, all of 'em. I really hate the Cardinals. Compared to the Cardinals, I love the Chicago Cubs. Let me make this clear: I hate the Cardinals." - Brandon Phillips

Tony is still p***y hurt.

Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, more or less, has put behind him Cincinnati Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman's criticisms of the Cardinals as "whiners" and the "most hated team in baseball." But what nettles him more, he said, is what he hasn't heard from the Cincinnati organization.

"There are people in that organization, from the top - (Bob) Castellini, Walt (general manager Walt Jocketty), Jerry Walker, to the players who were here - they know how we compete," La Russa said. "If you win, you shut your mouth and enjoy it. When you lose, you tip your cap.

"The guys who are in the best position (to say anything) are the owner (Castellini) and the general manager. I'm really disappointed they've been so mute - that they didn't say, ‘That's (Brennaman's) opinion. We don't necessarily agree with it.' It really bothers me."

Boston/Yankees
Dodgers/Giants
Reds/Cardinals

In that order
I think right now Reds/Cards are on top. Red Sox/Yankees is all nice right now, and Giants/Dodgers is mostly just the fans.

as for Cubs/Cards, I've always just seen that as a friendly, traditional rivalry. you don't see too much like what the Reds/Cards are going through these days.

The cards/reds are the 2011 version of the mid 80s cards/mets. Two talented teams that don't like each other.

Takes a lot more than that to make it a rivalry.

The Cubs and cards hate each other. Don't ever doubt that. It just hasn't been as interesting because the Cubs suck, again. But the hate is there, believe me.

Yup. The one thing both sides agree on. We wish the other would be sucked into the depths of hell.

Pink hats on both sides of the aisle has diminished the Sox/Yanks a bit. It's still the best rivalry in baseball. But the Reds/Cards are inching closer and closer.

Let the Cards and Cubs ever be good at the same time and play in the NLCS, and you will see what I mean.

I certainly agree.

But the Cubs being good doesn't look possible in my grandchildren's lifetime.
