I hope Holly Plays her, she can't be any worst than Dunbar guarding the paint this year, she needs to get some good minutes to give Russell a breather and not have us looking at small ball when Russell goes out

The coaching staff has no clue on how to incorporate players to get the best results. Practice makes perfect in that regard. Test the waters with Mercedes and Nia Moore on the floor together.

Nia played 4 minutes and had 4 points and a spot on behind her back, back door assist to Kortney Dunbar against Auburn. Nia has a knack for making things happen with her time on the court. But this coaching staff has misused her to their detriment. Same goes for Kortney Dunbar. At least they are given Alexa Middleton some more minutes but she should eating up Jordan Reynolds minutes, also.

Nia has more counter moves in the post than Mercedes does. But play those two together and let them work off one another. On defense they are both good shot blockers. Nia has shown in the past especially early last season that she's a gamer. But for the life of me I can't understand why CHW is stuck on stupid on how to get the LVs to play together.

Yeah I'm happy that we've beat Auburn but it wasn't because CHW had a great offensive game plan. All she does is cheer lead on the sidelines. When a player comes off the court she's standing there to welcome them by slapping them on their butt. That infuriates me to no end.

As y'all can see I am not a CHW fan. The players are saving her job and that's just too bad. As long as they keep winning my disdain for her goes down just a tad.

I just am upset for the players not getting developed to reach their full potential because they have such a bad coach. If Geno, Muffett, Brenda or any other coach for that matter were in charge they would have the Lady Vols playing so much better with efficient ball movement on the both ends.

Thanks for reading. Rant over.:)

Moore might deserve more minutes as she can score. Would you play her with Graves and Russell, taking minutes away from Nared? Moore doesn't have great court awareness sometimes on defense--neither does Graves--and she can't guard the perimeter as Nared can. But she is confident with the ball.

let graves guard the perimeter in Nared's stead and keep the twin towers in the paint! :)

There is a reason Moore has spent the majority of her time at UT on the bench. Her court awareness is poor (improved from her freshman season, but still poor) and she is a major liability on defense getting pushed out of position or being in the wrong position to begin with.

On the plus side, she has good hands and can score a few points and can hit her free throws.

But she's not going to gain any more weight or strength than she already has by hanging around another year.

With Graves graduating and J. Jones' status unknown, Moore can be helpful next year. But she sits on the bench for a reason.

She got scored on face-to-face at least 3 times by Auburn's guards, and didn't even have her hands up, let alone attempt to contest the shot.

She's not that good. She's a body for depth, but little more.

Russell gets scored on by guards and rarely gets a hand up to contest a shot either and she has 3 inches on Moore

I just think, Nia needs more minutes, other players are able to play through their mistakes Nia is not.

Yes, I have been ughhhhh with the way, Nia has been handled that's why I was ok with a redshirt, I thought next year the four, should would shine, I love her skill set, offensively, post players have to sometimes get their ass kicked to get tougher.

I like her game, she needs confidence, and sometimes that comes with more minutes and not pulling her so fast Holly if she makes a mistake, let her play through it, free Nia!

Once she gets in rhythm, she's solid, but 5 minutes sorry, no rhythm, and most of the time she looks like she's playing scared, her length is a weapon.

I agree, I would prefer Nia at the four or 5 before Dunbar. Nia can score, when she is focus, locked in, always around the basketball on offense, free Nia.

I back Pat and roll with Holly!

I agree Holly has miss managed Nia Moore she needs to play her. Let Moore play thru her mistakes that`s the only way she will gets better. Trust me if the Lady Vols are to make a run for the NC or Final 4 Mercedes will need a backup and the answer is not Graves been there done that.

They could play Nia in a three post rotation with Russell and Graves.
Point guard Carter and Cooper
Wings Deshields, Middleton, Nared, and if she is contributing Reynolds. I don't expect Jones back this season concussion must be bad been out over a month. Dunbar is a spot player can't guard a position. Jackson has to sit this year other than mop up duty needs to work on her offensive games. She is ok on defense.

I think after seeing several games that two post on offense just clogs up that area and makes it hard to get a pass in there. Teams put three in there to guard not really respecting our outside shooting. I think we should play four out and one in or at least one at the high post free throw line to open it up for whomever is playing in there. Find a driving lane and get a shot in the paint.

As much as Russell roams out of the paint, we need a big to stay down low. Nia is the next biggest (tallest) they have, plus she is mobile, a good shot blocker and has much better hands than Russell.

This lineup would be vulnerable to pressure bringing the ball up and conversely wouldn't be able to pressure the ball themselves. The lane would be clogged even more, also. Not a good lineup.

But what do I know. Maybe it would work against SC.

I didn't mean play all three posts at one time that would be a rotation of the three.
Same for the other rotations we would have three perimeter players in there at all time.

Agree with LVJEFF...don't like Bashaara bringing the ball up court...old school get the ball to a guard who is a better ball handler type of guy here. She should not be bringing the ball up court.
