Where the refs out to get us early on? It seemed like there were a few questionable calls especially against the receivers. One where they were blocking before the throw but they were still behind the line of scrimmage. They seemed to just keep trying to slow us down.

PI was a bad call. Otherwise I didn't see a ton to complain about. It was actually pretty clean on both sides. I'm surprised UK didn't try more holding on UT's receivers.

I can pretty much guarantee that Stoops set that PI call up by complaining before the game started. They all do it. I think Heupel probably did some lobbying before the Bama game because of how their DBs typically hold and get away with PI.

I'm just shocked that stuff like this actually pops into peoples' head.

That call seemed very out of place and forced. I agree I thought they were intentionally calling something to break our rhythm on offense. And it worked. After that series though it seemed to be a decently called game except for the usual missed holding calls that are always gonna be there.

The holding calls on us in the beginning were iffy at best, and Kentucky had blatant holds that weren’t called. I think the refs were trying to affect the tempo of the game but could only do so much.

As one of the crusty old geezers at work told me many years ago when I was a fresh out, "Son, always presume incompetence until malice is clearly demonstrated."

We have been called for PI on the quick throw to the wide side at least three times in the past few games with the one last night was very early in the game. I don't get the vibe that there is "cheating", more like Stoops was getting in that refs ear.

You must be in my head because I was just thinking about the PI that was called on Fant. There has to be more to that than simply a bad call…
If there is another receiver blocking past the line of scrimmage and the pass also is caught beyond the line of scrimmage, it's offensive PI.

I belive that was the situation on Fant

It was hard to tell from the angle on TV but the ref threw the flag because he thought the ball (or Tillman) crossed the LOS before it was caught…didn’t look like it to me but I don’t think it’s reviewable.

I remember a number of calls that were in our favor. They didn't call us for roughing the passer at least once where the commentators were saying it could have been called. And when Stoops was having his meltdown on the sidelines they just ignored him. I thought they let 'em play compared to some other games I've seen.

Can't block past LOS before ball is caught

The offensive player, when an eligible receiver, has three yards past the line of scrimmage.

The "neutral zone"

This is nitpicking, but I think that is the point. For a referee to call this penalty, which is substantial, I would argue they are predetermined to make a call.

I haven't noticed anything like that happening this year. There's been as much we got away with as has been questionable calls just like every other team.
