The "neutral zone"


This is nitpicking, but I think that is the point. For a referee to call this penalty, which is substantial, I would argue they are predetermined to make a call.

He can be 3 yds downfield before ball is thrown. You can't impede a player's ability to catch the ball on a forward pass

Are you trying to argue that this play did not occur in the "neutral zone", or are you just pulling stuff out of you a$$?

During a down in which a legal forward pass crosses the neutral zone, illegal contact by Team A and Team B players is prohibited from the time the ball is snapped until it is touched by any player or an official (A.R. 7-3-8-II). b.
