The house was a rental, and most likely wasn't reported.

Even if it wasn't, I don't see why it should be expected of the compliance department at every university to personally investigate the living situation of every relative of every varsity athlete.

It's most likely just the superstars they need to keep track of as those are the ones that the NCAA dishes out the big penalties for.

Those are the ones that are prone to the big gifts, but everybody gets hooked up with a little something or other on a fairly regular basis.
