You've either never been in a serious relationship or you have some serious trust issues.

I don't have serious trust issues and I've been in serious relationships. I just don't believe a long distance relationship is a relationship.

How so? My wife and I worked everything out just fine an hour and a half apart.

Sounds more like you could be the clingy type to me.

My wife and I were 5.5 hours away from each other for almost 2 years before marriage. Visited once/month, just spent a long time on the phone daily. Funny how relationships go though, because I still love her more than anything but I hate talking on the phone with her.

After graduating from UT I moved to Murfreesboro for 2 years for grad school and my gf, now wife, stayed in Knoxville. It really sucked at times but eventually everything worked out and been married 3 years now.

Just venting… I’ve been dating a girl who is almost polar opposite from me. She a vegan, I’m a steak and potatoes kind of guy. She’s an agnostic and I’m a believer. I’ve got kids and she doesn’t.
She’s rich and successful and I’m struggling to pay bill after divorce and child support, but none of that mattered when we were together. We got along, better than anyone else I’ve dated. No arguments we had great conversations and our chemistry was great. The problem is distance. She’s just about an hour and a half away, it’s not like you can see each other nightly or even every other night.
We still care for each other and have expressed it but we’ve decided to walk away from one another.
All I can say is damn…

This might be the biggest problem here - she has money and you don't. She would never say it mattered, but it's likely that it did. She may not want to downgrade her lifestyle, and may not want to take care of your kids. The distance is just a convenient excuse.
