Why aren't the good Muslims coming out to denounce the bad ones? Seems like Christianity ha a reformation and a period where they questioned the activities/corruption of the Catholic church (~600 years ago).

You don't see that kind of reforming building up any momentum in the Islamic world...

You're appearing more and more like a bigot a rascist and an ass. Just stop.

no it's not an excuse. but these websites that are thrown up to try to cast a bad light on an entire religion are stupid. i am only saying that the radical muslims are bad, but no worse than some other groups throughout history.
Funny, throughout the whole of the Spanish Inquisition (the event I assume you are referencing in your previous posts) only 4,000 were executed over a span of one hundred plus years. What is the death toll from Islamic terrorism since 1976?

Don't need to go back that far... how many died on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001? :whistling:

How many people have the Falwells and other televangelists suckered into blowing themselves up or committing a Jihad? How many times have these guys called for death to all non-believers?

Well if you want examples, think about the Klan. All in the name of a White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant religious movement...many of the supremacist groups use religion. Timothy McVeigh had a 'Christian perspective' to his cause. Even among more mainline groups they espouse a view to take control of government and force a religious doctrine on society which is no different than the Taliban or other Muslim Imams or Mullahs. Our favorite nut in Kansas is another one who has no problem espousing violence although no one has taken him up on his threats. You have Eric Rudolph as well.

The point is that there are examples all throughout history of groups through religion going at it. In the former Yugoslavia it was about Christianity (two sects) and Islam. Even in Macedonia and Kosovo this continues. Darfur, Ireland, Philippines, the Caucasus, etc. All of the Crusades were in effect wars to drive out the other religion.

The extremists of today aren't trying to drive other religions out of their territory, they are trying to annihalate Christianity off the face of the planet.

Ahh... I knew somebody would bring up the klan. The problem with you analogy is that there were other Christian groups that were publically vocal about the klan's actions and actively fought against them.

You don't see the same effort being used by "moderate" Muslims...

I definitely beg to differ on that assumption.
