Remaining Prospects that we are recruiting.

We'll end up ok. Seems like lots of decommitted guys in the last 2 weeks for everyone. Hate losing JoeJuan Williams to Vandy, but even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now & then!

Not sure the coaches were pushing that hard for Williams. He might've been further down our list.

A lot of moving parts going on this time of the year, and wanted to make a list of which positions and players we are actively recruiting that we have offered and that are visiting between now and signing day. I'll also put players here that are soft commits like Kongbo.

OFFENSE

RB Rico Dowdle

WR Velus Jones
WR Marquez Callaway
WR Mecole Hardman
WR Donnie Corley
WR Willie Johnson
WR Mykel Jones
WR Ahmmon Richards

OT Nathan Niehaus
OT Landon Dickerson
OT Marcus Tatum

DEFENSE

OLB Jaleel Laguins

DE Jonathon Kongbo
DE Jefferey Simmons
DE Terrell Lucas

DT Derrick Brown
DT Tyler Clark

CB Lavert Hill
CB Aaron Robinson

S Nigel Warrior
S Arkeem Byrd

Probably lose Henderson and Giles if not already. Add warrior, d brown, Dickerson, niehaus, v jones, dowdle, mecole/Marquez and either another wr, cb, or de. Whatever happens. Should be decent class. Shifts in the 2017 trend have me more worried, despite how early it is.

I don't see any of the receivers coming to U.T. UNLESS they are local kids who want to stay local. If you were a 5* receiver, would you come to U.T. just to be a blocker?

I've heard this explanation alot lately, and while we didn't have the season we could have had, this season overall should be deemed a success. I am not sure how a prospect cannot look at Tennessee and the trend we have going as a program and not be intrigued at what is to offer.

I look at Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart. What do these guys have to offer? Kirby has NEVER been a HC and Will Muschamp failed at FLA where he had ample opportunities and resources to be succussful. On the other hand, Butch Jones has been successful at every stop he has been at. He has literally pulled Tennessee out of the muck left by his predicessors. Objectively speaking, Butch Jones has a great deal to sell, which is why the lack of success in this recruitimg class has me scratchimg my head. I am not sure we want Zach Azzani and/or Willie Martinez to get hired away. We must close out strong.

It is like I eluded to a year ago. I told you that we have been selling " Immediate playing time" as a recruiting tool. Now, we don't have alot of immediate playing time to offer.
So, the kids consider other places.

Also, the part about us "Not winning the big one's" Well, that is the next step in the process of this rebuilding process. If these players don't get on board now, then they will miss out. Because the train is rolling down the track and it is picking up speed. Get on board while you can or you will end up playing for South Carolina, Ky. or Vandy.

If you can't win at UF with the talent literally up to your armpits, I can't imagine one having much success anywhere else.

Four and five-star recruits will be very hard to come by now. Recruits probably getting smacked with "but he can't win the big games". Maybe after the raise and this dead period Butch will come on like gangbusters...

GO VOLS!

"Can't win the big game" doesn't seem to hurt Dabo Swinney. He gets 5 stars coming out of his ears every year, but even as the #1 seed he's an underdog against OU (who will beat Clemson I think). Apparently 5 stars don't mind being on an underperforming team that never lives up to expectations, and the NFL doesn't care for as far as drafting their players. I think we have a better argument for them than Clemson does since we're up and coming and they have been at the top for a while, blowing it every year. Apparently Hunter Johnson disagreed, but I think that has more to do with the long list of QB's ahead of him by 2017.

Opposing coaches are likely saying Butch is a guy that kicks fgs from the 6 inch one and then throws the players afterwards saying they don't know how to win. Unfortunately, it's true

Lost another key recruit to Clemson....

2017 soft commits, to me, don't count yet as being lost or for that matter in the fold for anyone. That kid could drop Clemson next week, it's so far out you can't pin a kid to anything this early. He may watch Clemson get humbled and decide they aren't for him. Or he may continue to smoke crack and decide to stay with Clemson.

Swinney has won a ton of big games in the last few years. I hate Clemson but they are rolling.

ah its wet diaper season...my least favorite time of year where they come out of the woodwork wringing their hands about a class that still has TWO months to come together. Instant gratification society(that can't even take the time to spell out scholarship) just about has me beat to a pulp.

Netflix and chill you ninnies. Can we sticky this?

Unfortunately, many of our SEC competitors already have IT together and still have 2 months to add to their fold.:eek:hmy:

This is my guess about how we finish. I think the staff might also want another DE, but I don't have a good feel about who it might ultimately be.
