Aaaaaannnd Jermaine Burton starting for Alabama tonight. Yup, Saban sure took care of things “internally”. The man would shoot his own mother to get a win. No class or morals whatsoever

The young lady that was hit should file a legal complaint. There is ample evidence that the event occurred and that Burton wasn’t “afraid for his safety” as he has claimed as there weren’t any other people close to him at that time and he didn’t shove her as he claimed. He went out of his way to hit her and should be punished for it. Saban and Sankey won’t, so get the legal system engaged.

It's Saban and Bama recognizing they are untouchable and doing whatever they please.

I will probably get heat for this, but when the incident occurred, I was of the ilk that individuals are taking a personal and criminal risk being on the field. It's clear that we are NOT supposed to be there. The stated issue is safety of the participants in a wild mob. Seems legit. I wondered if I were the judge, would I simply wag my finger at both parties and say "you are both wrong, and I'm not going to spend time if it is a 50/50 or 60/40 blame game".

As this weekend has progressed and having been reminded earlier of the Great Poobah (Sankey) injecting himself in the Jennings incident, and remaining silent on this one, I am now recoiling in disbelief. The facts have previously discussed and I won't repeat, but I think people like me who believe in the rule of law are getting pretty pizzed at the elite favoritism that is being displayed, from the commish and Saban's thumb in the eye by playing Burton. Hell, even the bammer penalties have "magically disappeared". Those gumps sure are smart to be able to fix ALL of those problems in just 6 days.

...or is there something else afoot?

Amazing.

All the more reason to get the SEC offices up and out of Birmingham at the first realistic opportunity and on over the Charlotte with the TV/media offices. The only reason the offices are planted in Birmingham to begin with is the city gave them free rent. Otherwise there is no reason the have the conference HQ in Alabama of all places.

Expecting impartiality from Sankey is a pipe dream, especially when it involves Tennessee.

On a separate note, I watched the Bummer vs Mississippi State game last night and listened to Chris Fowler subtly insult the MSU mascot when talked to its handler in the booth. Nothing egregious, he just made a comparison between the MSU bulldog and UGA’s canine that anyone else would probably have recognized was going to come across as snide and condescending, especially when you are on Mississippi State’s turf talking with their mascot handler. Herbstreit picked up on the subtle slight right away and did his best to smooth it over. Herbie also corrected Fowler when he (of course) suggested on-air that Bummer handed last week’s game to Tennessee rather than the Vols winning it.

Fowler is a tone-deaf buffoon who just lacks emotional intelligence. This goes a long way to explaining why he seems to “take shots” at Tennessee at times. Plus, he’s a D-bag. Well, maybe it’s just due to that . . .

Why not get the District Attorney involved. This did happen in the City of Knoxville and Knox County. Can you imagine what would happen if they issued a supeona for him to appear for questioning at 4 pm on Saturday, November 5? Let's make that happen.
