I meant to come back and reply... Yes, yes they were !
And if it was the worst kept secret then why ask![]()
The same reason you put me on blast for being "miserable" when I was clearly very positive about the commitment?
But I'm touched you were thinking of me enough to respond two days after the fact...
I'm surprised at how some appear to believe a player outside the top 50 is a huge win for the Lady Vols. Is this where we are now? Is this the best we can do; if so, what's our goal? It certainly isn't a national championship. While the short videos of Striplin's play are decent, I would be concerned about her performance against players her size, and her quickness (or lack of) when asked to step out and guard on the perimeter.
I know it's still early, but hopefully KJH will be able to recruit top tier players in the next couple years. The Lady Vols have enough players outside the top 50 already:
Harris #100+
Kushkituah #57
McCoy #100+
Rennie #100+
Brown #100+
Saunders #100+
Borderline top 50
Burrell #43
Key #47
2020
Salary #59
Darby #100+
2021
Striplin #53
With a lineup like this, you need either a superior coaching staff who can REALLLLYYYY develop players, or prepare to be bottom of the top 25. Not many schollies (sic) left on the table. IJS
Actually Vic brought in a bunch of three star players that a couple ended up playing like five stars. Miss St already had a five star player when he got there he added the big 6'7" girl that was rated a three star way down the list and the little girl that killed UConn was also a three star player that just excelled. He didn't start getting actual highly ranked players until the last couple years and none have been as good as the original group he recruited that were all ranked lower.both dawn and vic were immediately able to bring in top talent and talent that fit their coaching styles once they were hired and now both teams quickly went from bottom dweller status to nc contenders..tennessee has all the tradition, the crowds, the facilities, that there should be no excuse to get that top talent unless the coaching staff sucks at developing that talent or being able to relate to these top ranked players

Well she is rated number 35 by Prospect Nation the best rating site if that makes you feel better.I'm surprised at how some appear to believe a player outside the top 50 is a huge win for the Lady Vols. I'm perfectly ok here. I'm being objective and that seems to bother you. I didn't criticize coach KJH in my comments, neither have I ever. Grow up and realize free speech is granted to all of us. You may not like what I have to say, and I may not like your opinions, but I respect your right to have an opinion. I'm not asking your permission to comment or seeking your approval.Gladiator I know you are looking forward to spring so you can pull the wings off the butterflies....
It's going to take a few seasons for coach Kellie to get her type of players in here....If you don't like the players most of us like pal, go to the UConn board or South Carolina board....

Hmmm...you seem to know a lil about pulling wings off butterflies.![]()
jeez...whose grandmother is this? would someone please let her know that i will not be drawn into an argument with her? what a beautiful day!!!By your very words you are, indeed, criticizing Coach Kellie.
By the fact that you chose the lowest rating you could find to classify our beloved Sweet Karoline, you are further criticizing Coach Kellie.
That you used the same negativity toward our Tess, failing, or ignoring the fact that she was much higher rated before an injury, you are actively, or ignorantly criticizing Coach Kellie.
And, you wish her all the luck in the world?
HA!
