I meant to come back and reply... Yes, yes they were !

And if it was the worst kept secret then why ask 🤷‍♂️

The same reason you put me on blast for being "miserable" when I was clearly very positive about the commitment? 🤷‍♂️

But I'm touched you were thinking of me enough to respond two days after the fact...

Not to hard to do when you keep giving me ammo to call you out 😂 maybe you actually being positive (despite your smart a$$ comment of it’a supposedly TN right or Worst kept secret comment) moved your “miserable” needle to a “crotchety” keep up the good work though 😂😂😂

I'm surprised at how some appear to believe a player outside the top 50 is a huge win for the Lady Vols. Is this where we are now? Is this the best we can do; if so, what's our goal? It certainly isn't a national championship. While the short videos of Striplin's play are decent, I would be concerned about her performance against players her size, and her quickness (or lack of) when asked to step out and guard on the perimeter.

I know it's still early, but hopefully KJH will be able to recruit top tier players in the next couple years. The Lady Vols have enough players outside the top 50 already:

Harris #100+
Kushkituah #57
McCoy #100+
Rennie #100+
Brown #100+
Saunders #100+

Borderline top 50
Burrell #43
Key #47

2020
Salary #59
Darby #100+

2021
Striplin #53

With a lineup like this, you need either a superior coaching staff who can REALLLLYYYY develop players, or prepare to be bottom of the top 25. Not many schollies (sic) left on the table. IJS

wow, when you actually look at whats on the roster it looks like a middling mid major team. tennessee is lucky to have rennia or this season would look more like ND'S

both dawn and vic were immediately able to bring in top talent and talent that fit their coaching styles once they were hired and now both teams quickly went from bottom dweller status to nc contenders..tennessee has all the tradition, the crowds, the facilities, that there should be no excuse to get that top talent unless the coaching staff sucks at developing that talent or being able to relate to these top ranked players

Actually Vic brought in a bunch of three star players that a couple ended up playing like five stars. Miss St already had a five star player when he got there he added the big 6'7" girl that was rated a three star way down the list and the little girl that killed UConn was also a three star player that just excelled. He didn't start getting actual highly ranked players until the last couple years and none have been as good as the original group he recruited that were all ranked lower.
Dawn did not bring any talent in her first two or three years she was getting her butt kicked by Tennessee in the beginning and in the last three or four years has been able to bring in top talent. Her record against Tennessee is still 7 and 9 and most of the wins have come in the last couple of seasons. We swapped out wins for two or three seasons. The early seasons as coach she lost by some huge margins to Tennessee. So no it took both coaches to about their third or fourth year to bring in highly ranked players Vic hit the jackpot with lower ranked players from the beginning.

You are right to show concern. But you should give Holly her due credit for Harris, kK , Brown , and Rennie and the other freshmen have Holly’s name all over them ! KJH did well to come in and keep the class that had committed. That includes Jordan a #2 ranked player you left out ? She picked up a couple of players without national credentials because it takes years to build relationships with players and not a few months ( which is all she had ).

I love following recruits , just something I enjoy doing ! The first thing I found out was you have to look at more than one service ! And Hoopgurlz is the most unstable from one year to the next . Darby was listed in the top 50 before an injury her Junior year and did well against good competition this last summer! I watched her in the Tn. State tournament last year and she will be able to contribute ( not a bench warmer ) but she is better than what Holly left. Just Saying

Striplin is in her Junior year and these ranking services are more interested in seniors and McDonald’s AA , and how many offers do they have? Striplin has many offers including. Naaaah, I won’t waste my time ! But if you look up Prospect Nation’s rankings ? She is #35 and her AAU teammate Pucket in the teens . Will she come with her ? Both from Alabama! Don’t forget about Teonni Key ( little sis ). Ranked on the teens also !
But you may be able to complain more in the future ? Time will tell ? 😈

Also Dawn lost her first three years at SC to Tennessee and Vic lost three of his first 4. Dawn is 7 and 9 versus Tennessee all time and Vic is 3 and 3. So no neither started out recruiting top stars it took them a couple years to get there and Wilson was really the player that changed things for Dawn. McCowan a low rated player was the player that changed things for Vic.

Gladiator I know you are looking forward to spring so you can pull the wings off the butterflies....

It's going to take a few seasons for coach Kellie to get her type of players in here....If you don't like the players most of us like pal, go to the UConn board or South Carolina board....

I'm perfectly ok here. I'm being objective and that seems to bother you. I didn't criticize coach KJH in my comments, neither have I ever. Grow up and realize free speech is granted to all of us. You may not like what I have to say, and I may not like your opinions, but I respect your right to have an opinion. I'm not asking your permission to comment or seeking your approval.

Hmmm...you seem to know a lil about pulling wings off butterflies.

By your very words you are, indeed, criticizing Coach Kellie.
By the fact that you chose the lowest rating you could find to classify our beloved Sweet Karoline, you are further criticizing Coach Kellie.
That you used the same negativity toward our Tess, failing, or ignoring the fact that she was much higher rated before an injury, you are actively, or ignorantly criticizing Coach Kellie.

And, you wish her all the luck in the world?
HA!

Not so much a "huge win" as a promising start. Most fans here have been very realistic in that it's unlikely she ever becomes an All-American here, but she can definitely be a key role player and quality starter a la Sidney Spencer at some point. We're viewing her as a complimentary piece, not the centerpiece of the class. If it ends up that she IS the centerpiece of the class, then you should worry...

what im hearing is key and rivers are going to eliminate tennessee, so who does that leave for 2021? recruiting busts for 2020 AND 2021 will be a huge failure for kellie..i hope this wont be the case

Where are you hearing that? That would be a disaster for Kellie...

That’s funny I heard the opposite for Key I heard it’s either an ACC school or TN.
