Renaldo's Senior Highlights

That's a fair assessment. I still doubt he is going to be more than a 7th or 8th man. My preference would still have been to hold the scholarship for the loaded classes in '09 and '10.

Just depends on who is the 6 or 7 guys playing in front of him. Even a Bradshaw and Howell finds room at the top in a Pearl system.

can't wait to see renaldo in orange next year. On the jp issue he will become a more under control and a force to be wreckin with. Just remember he is only a sophmore

If he can learn to hit free throws, he will be great for this team.

Ironically enough, with the exception of T. Smith, the players that weren't highly recruited or recruited at all have done well (Lofton and J. Smith), while most the high school studs (Howell, Crews, Ramar, and Prince) have all underperformed. Chism is about where I expected him to be. Based on the way our recruiting has gone, only God knows how Renaldo and Jurrick will fill out. I gotta give credit to Bruce for finding Brian Williams though.

I don't think he's going to make an immediate impact, but by his senior year he may be a very special player. Remember, we beat out Georgetown and USC for this kid. JTIII and Tim Floyd have reputations of having a good eye for talent which makes this very encouraging from my perspective.

Cordell Passley and Marques Johnson came a couple years ago, but the program has made such strides such a short time I don't think you can compare the guys we're going after now to the guys we went after then. Yes, we got Duke, Ramar, Wayne in that class, but at th time Marques was seen as a legit high-major point guard. At least we have them both out of the program, and Johnson is now a wasted scholarship for Sidney Lowe.

I can assure you Renaldo Woolridge was not a priority recruit for USC.

I didn't say he was DeMar DeRozan or Greg Monroe. I'm just pointing out that two very good talent evaluators did offer him a scholarship. I don't think we know his ceiling yet, he could be the next coming of Tayshaun Prince or he could turn out to be another Regis Koundjia it's hard to tell with guys that really come on and develop later in their high school careers.

wouldn't say Ramar has ''underperformed". Crews either

Then you're blind. Our point guard play has probably been our biggest weakness this year. On a good day, he'll make some nice drives and score, but lately he's been driving and taking bad shots. The reason we haven't scored in the 70's the last 3 games is likely due to the 1 spot. Crews, on the other hand, still hasn't developed a shot beyond 8 ft: not preferable for a 6'7" forward that can't handle the ball effectively. Crews was supposed to be what Tyler Smith now is for us with a bigger frame.

Because Ramar played point guard in highschool right?

It's really not about that because he has failed to improve upon a solid freshman season running the team. Everyone talks about Ramar's potential, but a year and a half into his Tennessee career and I don't see one iota of improvement in his point guard play or his overall game.

ha ha nice try. I think a year and a half would be enough of an adjustment period. Perhaps if you posted this exactly a year ago I would agree.

You can't just throw someone a ball and tell them to be a point guard. Throw Austin Rogers a football and tell him to take snaps from under center.

No one recruited Rogers to play qb obviously. Ramar was recruited to play PG at UT, and has had 2 seasons to adjust, which should be plenty of time for someone as talented as he is. As hat would put it, "next"

He also said that Doneal Mack was a sure NBA player! He and I will both purchase a ticket to any NBA game we see.
