Rennia Davis WNBA Draft Prospects

I've seen her in the top six in all the mock drafts usually in the four position. She will be moving on when your that high in the first round you have to leave.
Yep she is going but for the life of me i cant see her in top 6. Talent wise maybe but in a grinding WNBA schedule if she pouts like she does with us often she will not last long! I do think this is partly Hollys fault because Kellie has her doing better. Good luck to her!

You never know how a draft is actually going to go but she is projected in every mock draft in the top six first round. I don't see her going lower than 10 regardless and anywhere in the first round means a guaranteed contract.

I hope you are right! I have never and will never watch a WNBA or NBA game. Way too much politics when i am looking for entertainment!

Really don’t think Rennia pouts. She just has a more stoic personality. For the life of me I can’t understand the hate she gets. The woman is averaging a double double in SEC play and she gets hate every game on here.

It’s easy to put a lot of pressure on yourself when you felt the weight of the world on your shoulders for 3 years. I try not to make excuses but we should all feel damn lucky she stayed at UT through everything. We wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are this season without Re.

Watching everyone else this season I truly think Re could go very high if she declares. Just my speculation but I think she and Arella Guirantes could go 1/2. Rennia could actually be a very good fit for the Liberty. They are obviously going for small ball which suits Rennia but she is an excellent rebounder.

If Rennia continues to rebound the ball like she has been there is strong potential she could go #1 if she leaves. Looking across the country it’s a bit of a thin draft year.

I think Collier will (and should) stay for her final year. Her rebounding is there but her scoring in the post is still inconsistent and that does not get easier at the next level. Collier CAN face up, but I wouldn’t say she has a face up game. Pick and pop 3 but no moves off the bounce and I haven’t seen much in the mid-range for her. Mostly working the glass.

Natasha Mack will go high but she’s not the right fit for the Liberty IMO. Her handles aren’t great either.

Nobody hates her at least myself. My opinion so you have yours !

She is definitely improving her prospects by rebounding. I hope she is able to sustain this part of her game. I'd be ecstatic if she averaged 15/15. She is already looking to get assists.

Fans here will realize how much she meant to the team when she's not here next season. She will be very, very difficult to replace. I think she's the best player Tennessee has had since Candace Parker.

While I'm high on Davis as a WNBA prospect, I don't think she will be as versatile in the WNBA as she is in college. She is a 3, period. She cannot go against the likes of Parker, Stewart, Wilson at the 4, and certainly not against Fowles, Howard, McCowan at the 5...on offense or defense. She probably doesn't have the speed to be able to play the 2. What she is, however...is a very versatile 3 who can score in a variety of ways, can rebound, and has those long arms to be an adequate defender at the next level.

She has the potential to be a really good 3 in the W. Get more consistent with her 3-ball and she will be terrific.

Her 3-point shooting % is weird, because she's actually a very dangerous 3-point shooter. You don't want to leave her open. She's a better outside threat by far than her #'s would suggest. No team in their right mind would leave her open from deep and dare her to shoot.

Facts! I also think some of the 3s she should take and would definitely hit, she doesn't! My frustrations with her has always been that she doesn't have a killer instinct. She tends to go with the flow far more than she takes over. If she had (and this is my opinion) a Chennedy Carter mindset, we wouldn't be having this conversation about who and what she would be at the next level. The talent is there for sure, the question is how bad does she want it?

I disagree. If I'm scheming against Tennessee, Davis can have that shot all she wants. If it happens to be the one game out of five she actually hits a couple, so be it.

I would say that, more than anything, is what will hurt her stock come draft time...

If it's one of those "pick your poison" scenarios and you're getting murdered in all of of your other matchups, yeah...I can see them doing that like Kentucky did last week. Rennia had all day to set up for 3 and she had no problem making them. But I disagree that it would be a wise approach to take if the matchups are more evenly contested.

Pout? I’ve never seen her pout.

Her calm demeanor is being perceived as pouting by some posters. It’s not the first time i’ve seen it posted. Also she may get down in herself like when she was in her shooting slump. She was down but i never saw her pout and give up...
This is going to be such an interesting legacy of Rennia Davis. Though her headspace has always been an issue, I've never perceived it as pouting either. But lots and lots of LV followers do, and will always think that about her. Disappears. Doesn't step up. No superstar mentality. We hear it everytime she is not able to singlehandedly bail us out. To some extent its actually true; while obviously extremely talented, consistency has always escaped her. But I've never thought it due to lack of caring or trying.

I hope Rennia writes a book about her experience as an LV someday. She has been on the whole roller coaster ride. The final, awful days of the Holly drama seemed to really weigh on her. Remember how obviously lost and down she was? If she finishes strong, on a decent competitive team, its full circle for her, and hopefully also for the program. Let it Be.

Recently heard that this year is the first time Rae has ever had the same coach two years in a row. Never did in HS either. Maybe just that stability is part of her growth this year. Sometimes we forget how much the backstage drama of revolving coaching staffs can effect players like Rae and Re.
