I sincerely wonder if all the drugs in her system will rule out her donating organs. Fentanyl and cocaine, IDK, just a horrible situation all around

Might have needed next of kin to fly in and be in agreement. Even if she had a DNI/DNR.

I thought I read she had a organ donor order already in placement. A week is a long time for family for family to fly in to watch that crap.

I also saw that she had signed an organ donation form; good for her!

But as for the rest. You’d be amazed how long it can take. (In a hospital, not an LTC.) All it takes is one relly wringing their hands and going all drama llama. Even though the wishes are down on paper, witnessed, and notarized, TPTB generally try to get everyone on board, even through tears. I was always amazed (and saddened) how many people put their own feelings ahead of what the patient had clearly expressed.
