Richt

Right now as a Tennessee fan, we shouldn't talk crap to anyone BUT.....Georgia really has no room to talk when it comes to arrests. Plus I think Richt is on the verge of a 4 peat of NC's. He wins the National Championship of most talent wasted year in and year out...He should have won 2-3 Crystal Balls by now...If UGA was smart they'd fire him and hire Michigan States coach.

You're getting desperate for a valid argument. Our armed robbery happened 5 years ago. I posted 3 links on the first page of this thread about UGA players getting arrested...... they all happened within the last 8 months......

Yet it wa still UT "student-athletes" who committed the robbery, was it not? What's the relevance of time? You still hang onto that NC that happened in 1998, do you not? Can't have it both ways, Jr.

So by your "time has no relevance" logic if a UT student from 1914 robbed someone, it would be perfectly justifiable to bring that up when making the argument that UT is a bunch of criminals?

And just a heads up I used the 5 years ago statement for the purpose of being in contrast with UGA's problems, since you've had several in the last 8 months.

1) List the "several" along with the offense.
2) 1914?!?! That compares with just a few years ago?!?! I remember the robberies, along with the basketball players getting stopped with guns and weed. I also remember the football players beating the ****e out of an off-duty cop. These were recent, violent crimes. UGA players get caught drinking. Do UT players not drink? You magically get the recruits who don't party? And when UGA players get caught, they get punished.

We're happy we've had Richt (the title of this thread) for the past decade and not Fulmer/Kiffin/Dooley/Jones. :hi:

You are comparing an arrest in 2009 to a national championship. Absolutely ridiculous. We had one major incident in 2009 with a coach and a group of players that were eventually kicked off the team. At UGA, players have been arrested and suspended for at least the first several games CONSISTENTLY for the past ten years. The only reason this is an issue is because of how consistent these silly suspensions or dismissals occur every offseason for UGA. No other school in the nation has had as many players be dismissed or suspensed prior to the upcoming football season as much as UGA these last 10 years.

1) Well they are on the first page but sure I'll do it again

- Jonathan Taylor beat his girlfriend on July 22nd (I guess that doesn't count as a "recent violent crime" in Georgia?)

- Davin Bellamy was arrested for DUI on July 26th.

- Tray Matthews, Jonathan Taylor, James DeLoach and Uriah LeMay tried to embezzle almost $800 on March 17th.

2) you literally JUST said "what's the relevance of time?" You can't just pick and choose when time matters and when it doesn't.

Any more questions?

University of Tennessee Football Players Arrested at Knoxville-Area Party

Da'Rick Rogers arrested in Knoxville bar fight

TN football player wants rape case dismissed because unconscious victim was ‘promiscuous’

3 University of Tennessee football players arrested for robbery

Another Tennessee Football Player Arrested............ Tennessee apparently dealt with Oliver internally, and tried to sweep it under the rug. He was taken off the dress team for the game against Memphis. (This is the difference in UGA and UT)

Oh, and there's:

$7.50

The hourly wage made by Lacey Pearl Earps as a student assistant helping with recruiting for the University of Tennessee's football program in 2008. Earps, then the captain of the Orange Pride hostess program, was nicknamed "The Closer" for her ability to persuade high school recruits to come to Tennessee.

UGA has a few underage drinking cases. UT has robbery, assault, prostitution. And, in the words of your own in-state NP, sweeps it under the rug. Hardly compares. But keep pretending.

I'm seeing a lot of Kiffin news and you ignoring all the serious crimes your team has committed under your current coach. News flash, Kiffin was scum and we're glad he's gone. You're seriously grasping at straws and not getting any closer to coming out ahead in this.

I can't disagree with Richt's assessment. It'd be different if he wasn't kicking players off the team or was going the Auburn route and running a halfway house.

Ultimately and unfortunately, this will be Malzahn's fate.

Not to compare which university has the worst offenders as I'm not condoning those choices and actions of those that have been a part of the program, but your last statement absolutely reeks of homerism.

Try using any search engine with the keywords of UGA football arrests and let us know the results.

List would be to long to copy his clipboard, he wouldn't have enough memory left to stay online. This is just a bunch of mud slinging as was stated previously.

Guys I really want to see an end to all this arguing. I'll just drop this off right here and that should put a stop to the discussion.

Here's another list for you. America's Top Colleges List - Forbes

So you don't have to go looking, UGA's #94, UT's #292. Maybe our football players party a little, but they haven't robbed anyone, beaten cops, or dealt drugs. But UGA's a much, much better school than UT. Not even in the same league. I guess that's why you all like to throw stones about the football player misdemeanors. I guess Athens has a better police force than Knoxville as well.:hi:

You sound like a Vandy fan pulling out college rankings. I didn't know this was a forum for the debate teams. Here I am feeling silly thinking we're all talking about sports.

Not taking anyone's side in this matter, but just observing as an outsider it seems like Richt hoes to great lengths to try and run an honorable program.b He released more top talent during his time than any coach in the country I would think. Since he is ultimately responsible, he boot them rather quickly and gets them out

I respect Richt for this, but I have to ask: who recruited these players in the first place?

just askin' :hi:

Umm, umm, umm...

I'm sorry; I blinked: when did we change the topic from criminal activity by college football teams to academic rankings?

Go back; try again; we're waiting. :)
